Chapter 157

Ricky POV

I wake up to Nini tangling her bare legs with mine, her body feeling like it's in a suspended stretch. "Mm good morning." She whispers into my chest, obviously sensing the fact that I was slowly waking up. "Hey there babe, have you been up for a while?" I whisper and she shrugs, drawing circles on my chest. "I couldn't sleep for some reason, even though I was super tired." I nod and tangle my fingers through her hair. "Maybe you're just physically tired." I say and I feel her breathe out. "Probably. That hike from the other day finally caught up with me, my legs are so mad at me." I frown and crane my neck to look at her. "Are you in a lot of pain?" She nods and I suddenly understand why she hadn't wanted to do anything last night, collapsing into me and relying on me to hold her all night. "Jesus, if anyone suggests a hike today we are saying no." She nods against me reluctantly. "I didn't stretch or anything before we walked those 8 miles and I think that's why I'm in so much pain." I frown deeper and rub her back. "Yeah, my legs were starting to hurt yesterday and even now I can feel a little soreness, but that makes me even more worried for you. Can I do anything?" She shakes her head but I feel a warm drip on my chest and I push her back. "Woah are you crying? Nini oh my god." She shakes her head and laughs, grabbing one of my hands. "I don't know why I'm crying, I'm just super uncomfortable for some reason." I sit up, cradling her small body in my arms. "Do you want to go to the hot tub? It might feel a little better if you're in the warmth." She looks relieved and nods, slipping up and out of bed, wincing slightly. "I'll put on my swimsuit, why don't you go check and see if anyone's up?" I agree and watch as she walks to her bag to find her swimsuit. She rummages around and I walk up to her, wrapping my arms around her from behind and kissing her neck. "Be right back."

"Oh, morning dude. Are we the only ones up?" I ask Big Red when I walk into the kitchen, seeing my best friend drinking from a mug. He gives me a smile, nodding and leans against the counter. "Yeah it's early, I figured I'd just grab my caffeine before everyone got up. It's nearly impossible to keep up with this group." He laughs and I nod in agreement. "Tell me about it, Nini's in a crazy amount of pain from our hike two days ago." Red frowns and nods in agreement. "Ashlyn says she was getting sore yesterday when we came back from the lake. Come to think of it, that was one hell of a walk." I nod in agreement, making my way over to the fresh coffee Red had made. "Nins and I are gonna slip into the hot tub, hopefully that'll relax her muscles." Red shoots me a thumbs up and stands up straight. "I'll see you in a few hours, I doubt anyone will be up for a while." I give him a peace sign as he exits the kitchen and I fill up two mugs of coffee before making my way upstairs again to change into swim trunks and then head into the hot tub room. I'm happy to see Nini already relaxed in the water, hanging over the edge and resting her head in her arms. "How are you feeling?" I ask and her head shoots up in surprise. I laugh and she smiles before resting her head back down. "This feels so much better." She admits and I feel a wave of relief rush through me. "Thank god." I say before putting the coffees down on the table and slipping into the tub with her, sitting next to her and rubbing her back. I add pressure near her shoulders to work out the tension and then I bring my hands to her thigh nearest me, pressing against her skin to encourage her muscles to loosen up. She groans quietly and I continue my movements until I feel her push my hands away. "That pain's getting bad again let's just sit here." She concludes and I nod, starting to feel a little helpless. "Do you want to sit on my lap?" I ask and she nods almost instantly, lifting herself up and maneuvering on top of me. She rests her head against my shoulders and I press countless kisses across her neck. I feel her hands move up to my hair before she pulls away and stares me in the eyes. "I love you, thank you for doing this." Her index fingers run up and down my jaw line and I grin. "Anything for you Nins."

"Let's watch a romantic comedy movie." Carlos claps and I grin, looking around the living room for th consensus. Everyone had decided on having a very chill day, sitting around together and eating junk food and watching marathons of movies. Since this morning, Nini hadn't left my side, holding onto my body and resting on top of it whenever she could. Knowing she'd be laying on top of me for at least the next two hours made me smile and Nini grins up at me. "Why are you so happy?" She asks, her finger coming up to my lips, her touch tickling them gently. "Nothing." I laugh and she shakes her head, her eyes sparkling. "I can practically read your mind Bowen, don't nothing me." I laugh and hold her in a tight hug, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "Fine, want to know what I was thinking?" She nods but EJ interrupts us loudly. "Oh please, do not fucking tell us how you want to-" I shoot a glare in his direction, my mood changing instantly. "Watch what you say next bud." Nini giggles into my side and I fight the grin that's starting to spread across my face again. "But admit it baby, there's like a 50% chance that's what you were thinking." I raise an eyebrow and Carlos chimes in. "75% chance because he's a hormonal boy." I squint my eyes at him and Nini giggles even more. "Let's just turn on the damn movie please." I announce, and I don't miss Nini's bright smile as she turns her face into my chest.
