White Horse

Kurapika POV

I laid in bed staring at the ceiling. Leorio and I got into an argument and he just left, it's been hours since he's been home. I texted him three times and he left me on read, I'm supposed to do that.

I picked up my phone and stared at the screen, no notifications, "Where is he?"

I let out a sigh and sat up. The room was dark, it was twelve in the morning, and my fiancé won't answer my text. So far this day is going great.

I stood up and walked into the bathroom. I turned the light on washed my face. Leorio still hasn't answered me, it's been ten minutes.

I went into the kitchen and yawned as I turned on the light.

As soon as the light was on I began to make some tea. I made two cups, one for me and one for Leorio in case he came back home thirsty.

I let out a sigh and set my tea down on the counter. I opened the fridge and looked around for something to eat, well, something for Leorio to eat when he comes back. He could look for something himself but I felt bad, I caused him to leave, I should at least have something for him when he comes back.

I shut the fridge and grabbed the bag of bread off the top of it, "I guess I'll make some toast."

Leorio POV

"You know I'm a cop right?"

I nodded, "Yep."

"Then why didn't you go to mom and dad's house?" I laughed, "I would prefer a cop to know about this rather then our dad."

My sister chuckled, "I guess you're right. So what do you have?"

"What does it look like?" I held the spoon over the candle. "Looks like..... powder sugar?" I shook my head, "Nope. Very surprising Rose, you're a cop. Do you have anything that I could hold this up with?"

"Not unless you're okay with balancing it on something."

"I'm fine with that."

She walked away and a few seconds later she had a book in her hand, "Use this." I grabbed the book and set it under the spoon to balance it, "Thanks."

My sister sat beside me, "So are you going to tell me what it is?"

I looked away and sighed, "Heroin."

She gasped, "Leorio! That's literally illegal! You can't do this here. If the chief finds out that my brother is doing illegal drugs in my house, I'm done for!"

I frowned, "Damn sorry, guess I'll leave then."

"No! Please stay, just in case something happens. I was just fired anyway. What happened that makes you want to do this?" I sighed, "Everything. Hand me the syringe."

Rose grabbed the syringe, "Before I give you this, you know what you're doing right? You know that it can be extremely addict-"

"I know what I'm doing. Don't worry."

"I'm going to worry. This is an extremely addictive drug."

"You think I don't know that? I'm a doctor, I have hundreds of patients who think they have some mysterious disease but it's actually because they're addicted to heroin. Just give me the damn syringe."

She sighed and handed the syringe. I filled the syringe with the liquid in the spoon.

Since my skin was dark I needed something to tie around my arm to see my veins better, so I brought a rag, which was really just a piece of an old t-shirt.

"Thanks, now hand me the rag I brought." She handed me the rag, "Need help?" I shook my head and tied the rag around my arm and pulled it tightly with my teeth.

My sister winced when I get injected the drugs into my veins. Not even a minute later a rush of euphoria, a dry mouth, and a heaviness sensation in the arms and legs, washed over me almost all at once. I could feel my mind get fuzzy.

"Leorio? Are you okay?"

I chuckled and leaned my head back, "Yeah, I'm good. Totally fine. Oh my god, Kurapika's going to kill me."

She moved closer to me, "Who's Kurapika?"

"My fiancé."

"You're getting married? Leorio we got to get you home! What's your address?" I shook my head, "No way I'm telling you my address."

Kurapika POV

I woke up to the sound of a knock on my door. I groaned, "Who is it?" Just more knocking. I sighed and stood up walking to the bedroom door then to the front door.

I opened the door to see a woman who immediately said, "Wow you're gorgeous. Like an angel."

"I'm sorry do I know you?"

"No, you're supposed to though. Uh, I'm a cop, umm," she pulled someone to the door, "I think this is yours."

"Leorio! Oh my god I was so worried!"

Leorio looked away like he was guilty of something. The women pushed him inside, "You should still be worried. He was doing drugs at my house, I'm his sister, but he was doing drugs-"

I looked up at him, "Drugs?" He refused to make eye contact with me.

"Yes drugs. Specially heroin, which is a-"

"Leorio you were doing heroin! What the hell is wrong with you! That's illegal! And dangerous!"

Leorio glared at his sister, "This is why I didn't want to come home."

I backed away from him, "You didn't want to come home?" He looked at me, "Not because of you, I just knew you would yell at me if she told you-"

"Well of course I'm going to yell! You're doing heroin now! That's terrible for you! It's illegal! You could die from that shit!"

The women just looked at us, "I should go."

"Yeah you should! I'm sorry."

I looked back at Leorio, "We will talk about this tomorrow because I am tired and have a job interview in like a week I have to get ready for!"

I began to walk to the bedroom with Leorio following me, I turned around to look at him, "No! You're sleeping on the couch!" He groaned, "Kurapika come on."

"No! I'm pissed! Now goodnight Leorio!"

He sighed, "Goodnight Kurapika. See you tomorrow."
