Checking Up

(TW: slight mention of drug use)
Kurapika POV

I sighed and waited for Leorio to come home. He was, of course, at work but he promised to get home early so we could do something fun for together, just the two of us. It was currently three in the afternoon.

I tapped my finger on the coffee table, "Where is he?"

I looked up at the ceiling and let out a groan, he had to almost be here. I sat up and sighed before I stood up and walked around. It's been awhile since I checked for any signs that he was back on drugs.

I looked in the bathroom cabinet above the sink, luckily the only thing there was our medications.

I picked up one of the bottles, it was Leorio's. I tilted my head to the left as I tried to read it out loud, "E-e-eszo-o-opiclone. Hmm?" I put it down and climbed on the sink to look on top of the cabinet.

Nothing was up there but a note that read:
Don't worry, I quit
-Leorio

I smiled and climbed back down and walked into our bedroom. I trust Leorio and I know he probably did quit, but it's still worrisome.

I looked under our bed, there was nothing but the stuff that we put there, good.

Next I looked in our bedside tables. Leorio's had nothing and I didn't care to check mine. Leorio may be stupid but he's not that stupid, he has brains when he wants to.

I sighed with relief, nothing to be found, that's great.

I heard the door open and I ran out into the living room, "Welcome home Leorio!" He smiled, "Hey Sunshine." I smiled brightly, "So where are we going today?"

Leorio thought about it was he took off his coat, "Hmmm.....how about wherever you want to. I won't mind." He smiled at me and I felt more relaxed, "Thank you! Now go get changed! We don't have all day."

Leorio smiled at began to walk to our bedroom, "On it." His pupils were pretty small though, must be how bright it is in here. But his skin is a bit flushed.....wait it's pretty cold outside, nothing to worry about.

"Leorio! Hurry up!"

Leorio walked out of our bedroom putting on a leather jacket, "I'm coming hold on." He chuckled.

He looked extremely tired for some reason. "Leorio? Are you okay?" I asked.

He nodded, "Yeah I'm fine. Just not the best day at work, but shit happens what am I supposed to do about it." I sighed, "Okay but as soon as we get home you're going to sleep."

He chuckled again, "Okay, I will."

I smiled and skipped to the car with Leorio following.

God I hope the note isn't lying.
