Light Up Night

Kurapika POV

I looked at Gon, Killua, Alluka, and Zushi they were in the living room ranting excitedly to Leorio about something happening downtown, while I was in the kitchen getting the kids snacks and something to drink. Alluka and Zushi were spending the night.

I brought the snacks out and set them on the table, "Your drinks are in the kitchen, don't bring them in the living room because I know one of you boys will spill it all over the carpet."

I sat down beside Leorio and put my head on his shoulder, "What were you guys talking about?"

"Light up night!" The four kids all said excitedly. I looked up at them confused, "What's that?" Leorio looked at me happily, "You don't know? It's when the city council lights up all the lights they put up. Also Santa is there and-"

I shook his head, "Nope. Gon told me those Santa's were fake, but they tell Santa what you actually want."

Leorio faintly smiled, "Yeah, I guess you're right. But there's also places selling cookies and hot chocolate." I looked at him, "Sounds fun! Can we go?"

"Ehh, I mean I don't have the most money-"

"Please, please, please, please, please!" The five of us begged. I could tell by Leorio's face that his heart melted, "Okay, we can go. But nothing extra!" The five of us gave each other a high-five.

Gon smiled brightly, "When can we go? It starts at six! I think?"

Killua nodded, "Six."

"It starts at six!"

I looked at Leorio, "We should get there by six so we aren't late."

I pulled my hat further down my head, "Leorio I'm cold." Leorio wrapped his arm around my shoulders, "I know baby, I am too." I sighed, "Where did the kids go?" Leorio shrugged, "They ran off somewhere but don't worry I can just call them if somethings wrong."

I looked up at him, "You let them run off? When did that happen?"

Leorio shrugged, "When you went to the bathroom. You didn't know?" I pulled away from him, "Leorio they're fucking kids! Killua and Gon are teenagers! They're irresponsible! They can't take care of two kids who are like four years younger than them! That's so irresponsible! There could be creeps like Hisoka or something!"

Leorio sighed, "I'm sorry Kurapika."

I hung my head, "Leorio you can't just let kids run off like that, especially those kids."

Leorio nodded, "I know baby."

I sighed, "We need to find them." Leorio lifted my chin up, "Do we though? They're kind of responsible. Plus they can fight very well, and you know that."

I blinked, "I do know that but they're still very irresponsible."

"They are but guess what?"

"What?"

"They know how to take care of themselves. We leave alone a lot, whether it's in a room, the house, or some part of a public place. They never came back dead......well....dead dead."

I sighed, "You're an idiot." I looked around, "Leorio look!" I pointed at the lamp post, the lights were finally turning on and they looked beautiful, "Wow!" Any other person wouldn't be that amazed but I was.

I laughed joyfully, "It's so pretty! Wow! Look baby it's so pretty!" I grabbed his arm and started to jump up and down, "Amazing!"

Leorio chuckled, "I know, it is amazing, huh?"

I nodded, "Uh-huh." I was too distracted by the lights to focus on anything Leorio was saying. I giggled and looked at Leorio, "Thank you Leorio."

"For what?"

"Bringing me here, can we get some hot chocolate? Oh and cookies!" Leorio chuckled, "Of course we can."

Leorio walked me to the stand selling hot chocolate and cookies. "I want chocolate chip. And marshmallows in my hot chocolate." I whispered up to Leorio. Leorio chuckled and ordered my cookie and hot chocolate.

I took a sip of my hot chocolate, "This is good!" Leorio smiled at me, "It is isn't it?"

"Yeah!"

I looked around, "The lights look really pretty reflecting off the snow." Leorio put his hand on my cheek, "You're so beautiful." He kissed me for a second before pulling away, "I love you so much."

"I love you too Leorio."
