Gingerbread

Kurapika POV

I looked beside me to see an empty bed and the house was silent. I sat up and turned the lamp on. "Leorio!" I yelled, no answer. I looked beside me at my clock, it was two pm and no one decided to wake me up.

I got out bed and ran into the kids room turning on the light. None of the three kids were there.

Even though I was still in my pajamas I went out on the balcony, no one was there either. I was starting to panic, "Did they abandon me?" I walked back into the living room and sat down on the couch. The living room and kitchen were empty as well.

I heard the front door open and the sound of Leorio's voice, "Don't tell him abo- baby you're awake." I stood up, "Where were you?"

Gon poked his head from behind him, "We went to the store to buy stuff for gingerbread houses and then-" Killua cut him off, "We bought stuff for gingerbread men!"

The two boys held up bags and Leorio chuckled, "We also got snacks and before you ask, they aren't that healthy."

I crossed my arms, "What snacks did you get?"

Leorio walked in and set down his bags, "Uhh sugar cookies, cupcakes, the one person Ben & Jerry's ice cream containers, little debbie cosmic brownies, little debbie Christmas Tree cakes, little debbie zebra cakes, eclairs, donuts, nutter butters, and an ice cream cake!" I sighed, "So basically just dessert." Alluka nodded, "Yep!"

Gon started jumping up and down, "Can we start making the gingerbread houses and decorate the gingerbread men?"

I sighed, "Let me get dressed first."

I into the kitchen, "So how are we going to do this?" Killua grabbed a gingerbread house packet, "Gon, Alluka, and I are making a gingerbread house together and you and Leorio will make one. Be PG you two."

I scowled at him, "We will." Leorio shrugged, "Eh-"

"Leorio! Stop messing around and just get the gingerbread stuff!" I laughed. Leorio smiled, "Already did~" Killua looked up at me, "What are you wearing?" I sighed, "Clothes. All right, let's get started. Is this a contest?"

"Yep-"

I grabbed Leorio's arm, "We better win!" He sighed, "I'll try to win if you call me-" I let go of him, "I'm not calling you anything but Leorio if you ask me again."

He frowned, "Alright. Grab the icing and do you want to make the house or people."

"Can I do both?" I clapped my hands. Leorio smiled and kissed my forehead, "Of course baby." Killua gagged, Gon hit Killua's arm lightly, and Alluka looked at us sweetly.

I looked at Leorio who was apparently making what looked like a gingerbread dog. I put a gumdrop on top of my house, "What's his name?" Leorio added more frosting to the dog, "Her name is Lina."

I smiled, "I love that name." Leorio nodded, "I know."

Killua looked up, "Are you going to name your future kid that?" Leorio sighed, "No. I don't want a kid. At least not till I'm married and love with them."

"Of course." Killua looked down, "Kurapika what about you?"

I shrugged, "I don't know, I like the name Mia." Alluka looked up at me, "That's a pretty name Kurapika!" I smiled at her, "Thank you sweetheart."

Leorio sighed again, "Kurapika start on the house, I bet you could make it look beautiful." He smiled. I nodded, "Yeah totally."

"Leorio don't!" I laughed. Leorio started to very slowly put the roof on the house, "I'm doing it Sunshine."

"No! Please!"

Leorio set the roof on the house, "There." I gasped, "Oh wow! You actually did it!"

Leorio smiled, "Of course I did-" The house collapsed. All of us looked at our wrecked house and then I laughed, "Leorio! Oh my god!"

Leorio laughed as well, "That wasn't my fault!"

"Yes it was!"

"Noo!"

I saw Killua roll his eyes, "Stop flirting." I looked at Killua, "You'll understand one day." Killua shook his head. Gon smiled at us, "I want to be in love like you too one day!"

I smiled, "You will be, definitely."

Gon lifted up his gingerbread house and people, "Look! I made us as gingerbread men! And girl for Alluka!"

I leaned my head on Leorio's shoulder. "Are you sure you don't want kids?" I whispered. Leorio wrapped his arm around me, "Maybe some day." I smiled, "Some day."

I stood up straight, "Gon don't eat our gingerbread house! We're going to remake it!" Gon laughed, "Sorry!"

Leorio and I finished up our gingerbread house around eight and Leorio put his hand on my shoulder, "It looks really nice."

I shrugged, "If I ever get a house I think that's what it will look like. Like Christmas lights you know." Leorio smiled softly, "Yeah. That's-that's really cute."

I smiled, "It is, isn't it?"

"Yeah. Gon put your house beside ours and your little people in front." Gon yawned, "What for?"

"To make it look like a little scenery. It would look nice."

I chuckled, "It would look nice. Do it Gon." Gon nodded and did what Leorio told him to do." Alluka smiled, "Can we take a picture like what we did at the Christmas tree?"

I looked at her, "Of course."

We took the picture of them and it now it sits right beside the Christmas tree photo. I loved them all, just a little less than my actual family, or maybe equally.
