Kurapika POV

"Leorio." I whispered, "Look."

Leorio wrote something down on his clipboard, "Baby you don't need to whisper." I stood up and looked at him, "But they look so cute sleeping."

He sighed, "Of course they do, they're babies."

I smiled, "I know. I love kids, especially babies." Leorio deeply inhaled, "Kurapika I'm working, why are you here?"

"I had an appointment to go to."

"And?"

"I saw you when I was leaving, said hi, we kissed for a second, you told me you were busy because you had baby duty, and I followed you because I wanted to see all of them. Leorio you know I love kids."

I walked over to one of the babies who was awake and smiled, "Hi~" I leaned forward a little bit and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, "Oh aren't you just adorable~"

Leorio glanced at me then back at the babies by him, "You can pick her up."

I looked at him, "Really? I can?"

Leorio nodded, "Yeah, just be careful."

I picked her up and my heart immediately melted, she was adorable. I looked at Leorio while swaying back and forth, "What's her name?"

"Not sure."

"What do you mean?"

He continued to walk around writing, "Her mom died a while after giving birth and she didn't know the dad." He looked up at me, "And before you ask, no we can't take her home."

I looked down at her, "I wasn't going to ask, but can I at least name her?"

"Name her and you'll get attached, so no."

"But she needs a name." I said softly. Leorio sighed, "Fine. You can name her, but only because she needs a name on her birth certificate and medical records. Just promise me you won't get attached okay, she's going to a foster home or orphanage once she's ready."

I nodded, "I promise." I looked back down at the child in my arms, "She looks like a..... Lucile, Lucy for short."

Leorio chuckled, "That's an old name."

"I think it's pretty."

"Yeah I guess it is."

I held out my finger to her and smiled when she grabbed it, "How old is she?" Leorio shrugged, "Two days, since her mom had trouble birthing she's going to stay another night or two."

I looked up at Leorio, "She's beautiful." He came up beside me, "She's not yours. Put her back, I'm done in here babe. Time to go."

I looked up at him, "I don't want to leave her alone. Leorio she doesn't have any parents and she's just a baby." Leorio sighed, "I know Kurapika. We can visit her before they send her off, okay?"

Leorio slowly took her out of my hands and back in her bed.

I started to tear up, "But-"

"I promise we can see her tomorrow, come on." I wiped my eyes, "You promise?" He smiled, "I promise." He wrapped his arms around my shoulder and began to walk us out as another doctor walked in.

I looked back at the room, "Leorio she's crying." Leorio rubbed my arm, "It's okay the other doctor will take care of it. Let's just go home."

"I didn't say goodbye to her."

Leorio sighed, "Tomorrow, we can see her tomorrow." I nodded, "Okay, okay. Tomorrow." I took a deep breath, "Tomorrow."

He kissed my forehead, "Maybe we can take her home tomorrow." I looked at him, "What?"

He smiled at me, "Temporarily, until we find her a home." I smiled brightly at him, "Really?" He nodded, "Mhm, I already talked to a lawyer and the hospital yesterday, because I knew you'd love her, we're aloud till they find her a permanent home."

"Well what if you want to keep her?"

He shrugged, "Then we do keep her, but we won't talk about that now because we have to go baby shopping." I nodded, "Yeah right!"

Leorio let out a shaky breath, "Oh lord, I'm not ready for this."
