On Stage

Kurapika POV

I quickly fixed Leorio's tie and sighed, "You should have cancelled. You aren't in the right mindset for something big like this."

He shook his head, "Kurapika I'll be fine, everything will be fine."

"I know but I'm sure if you did cancel they would get it."

"I know, but we've been planning this for months I can't cancel at the last second, plus I already told them." He put his hands on my shoulders, "Time for you to leave backstage, I'll be fine okay? I love you."

"Love you too."

I walked back to where I was supposed to be seated and sighed. I hope he'll be alright.

"Kurapika," Alluka whispered, "Aunt Mito wanted me to tell you that she's picking us up."

I nodded, "Okay sweetie."

I held my head in my hands and shook my head, Leorio won't be okay.

A few minutes later music started paying and I heard the host introduce himself and his special guest, Leorio Paladiknight.

I smiled as Leorio walked onto the stage, I was proud of him, he was making a name for himself. A politician and and one of the world's most successful doctors, it was great.

He was smiling too but I knew his smile wouldn't last, I just don't understand why he didn't cancel, he couldn't do this. Too many questions will be asked, too many he won't want to answer.

"Do you think he'll be okay?" Gon asked me as everyone calmed down.

I shook my head, "In all honesty, no."

I smiled and waved at Leorio when we made eye contact. He looked so happy to be on that stage.

I sat down and watched as they started talking and asking questions.

Leorio POV

"You're married right?" The interviewer asked.

I nodded, "Uh yes. My husband is sitting up there." I pointed to where Kurapika was sitting and of coursehe waved in response.

"You're married to another guy?"

"Um yes I am. I'm bi-sexual is that a problem?" I responded.

"Not at all Mr. Paladiknight. Do you two have any kids?"

"I guess you could say that we do but, we're only their legal guardians."

The man nodded, "I see. What are their names?"

"Gon, Killua, Alluka, and Lucy. They're all different ages. And before you ask, all four of them are in the audience as well."

He nodded, "Is your mom up there too?"

Immediately my heart dropped, I wish he wouldn't have asked any questions about my parents, especially my mother.

I heard Kurapika gasp silently. When I looked up at him, he looked worried, was it because of me?

"No."

He was about to say something before he sighed, "I'm sorry. We were informed about your mother this morning, I'm sorry about your loss sir."

I nodded, "It's fine."

"How are you holding up?"

"I'm okay. It's fine." I smiled at him.

It was silent for no more than two seconds before I started to cry. I inhaled sharply and sighed, "Sorry. This us embarrassing."

The host shook his head, "It's fine. Should we continue on with the questions?"

I nodded, "Sure, why not."

"You were right I should have cancelled. I'm so upset that was on live TV." I groaned.

Kurapika sighed, "I don't think it was that bad. Everyone feels emotion. But I am proud you were able to keep your anxiety under control, you're making progress." He smiled at me.

"I guess you're right."

"What do you mean guess? You know I'm right."

I laughed at him, "You're so cocky."

"Maybe I am but, you love me that way don't you?"

"Of course I do Sunshine. You're perfect."

He smiled at me, "Want ice-cream?"

"Why the hell not."

He giggled, "God I love you."

I smiled at him, "I love you too, always."
