Leorio Pov

My birthday was six ago, the night before Kurapika decided to disappear to who-knows-where without any warning. The last time he left without any notice, he went on a killing spree, got a sugar daddy, joined the mafia, ignored everybody, destroyed half of a forest, lost a few years of his life, fell into a depression, and a shit ton of other things. I have every right to be worried about him.

I tapped my foot anxiously leaning over the side of the porch, "Where are you?"

I knew he left on his own because the car is missing, I had to ride the bus to and from work but, I've been stuck at the hospital for two days which sucked because I have two kids that I needed to rapidly find a babysitter for.

I paced around thinking about where Kurapika could be, he isn't home and it's six pm so why would he be at work?

If he was staying at a friend's house he would have told me and also why he was staying. We haven't argued in a while, and I haven't relapsed on anything either.

I looked up every time a car passed but they never pulled into our driveway.

An hour and one pack of cigarettes later there was still no Kurapika.

I walked inside and glanced at the empty pack of cigarettes in my hand, "Disgusting. A whole pack. What the fuck is wrong with me?"

I sighed and sat down on the couch.

But just as I started to fall asleep the front door opened, "Leorio wake up, I have something for you-"

I quickly stood up, "Kurapika! Are you okay? Did you get hurt?"

Kurapika chuckled, "Yes I'm okay, no I'm not hurt, and-"

"What the fuck! Where have you been? I was stuck at the hospital for two days! The kids were home alone!"

"That's where you're wrong, I was home for the two days you weren't. Also, I've been in Mexico." He set some bags down on the couch, "Surprise! Happy Late Birthday!"

"Mexico?" I looked at the bags.

"Mhm, I was getting you some different birthday gifts and anniversary gifts because you have to work."

Suddenly my anger was gone, "What'd you get me?"

"Sit down and you'll see." He smiled at me.

I sat down beside the bags and waited patiently.

"Okay, so some of these things I'm almost positive you won't be happy about but I don't care because it's for your health," he pulled something out of the bag, "Number one, I went to your old elementary school and found a picture of you and your classmates. I remember you talking about how much you loved your fourth-grade class and how much you miss them, you were an adorable child, by the way, super cute, so I bought the picture off the school."

"Kurapika that's super sweet."

"Glad you like it because it was in no way cheap." He chuckled.

"How much was it?"

Ge whistled, "You don't want to know. Okay number two, I'm sure you won't like this one but whatever."

He pulled a piece of paper out of the bag, "It's a rehabilitation center, and Leorio it's absolutely beautiful there. There's a pool, the rooms are nice, it's in Mexico which is where you're from so I was hoping that would bring you some comfort, you're also allowed as many visits as you want. We're taking a tour of it right after my birthday and if you don't like it there we'll find a different place I promise, but you will go to a rehab Leorio Paladiknight."

"Kurapika, I don't know our life is turning around-"

"Exactly why you need to go. No arguments and no buts, you will find a rehab." He placed the pamphlet on my lap, "Read it, not right now but, I don't know what it says because it's in Spanish."

I sighed, "Alright. What else?"

"This one's big, not heavy or large-sized, just multiple different parts," He pulledeverything out of the bag. For a second I stopped breathing, why would he?

Lying on the table was a soccer uniform and ball.

"Kurapika, why...why would you? I don't understand. I haven't played soccer since Pietro-" I sat there in shock, he knows I don't play anymore.

Kurapika sat beside me and grabbed my hand, "Getting off of drugs and alcohol will have a big effect on your body, you need to stay healthy and I thought this would be a good way to do it."

Kurapika squeezed my hand, "Leorio you have to move on, do you think Pietro would want you to stop playing because of something neither of you had control over? I don't think so. Right now he probably wants you to get off of drugs and be in shape while doing it, plus I'm sure your daughters will want to learn and I know nothing about soccer," he chuckled, "again, just try it out. If you can't do it I'll see what else we can do, okay?"

I didn't have anything to say, all I did was nod, "Anything else?"

"Two more things, one is that I decided to allow you to raise our kids catholic under one condition."

"What?"

"You let them know if that's not the religion they want to follow they don't have to, and, you'll let me raise them alongside Kurta traditions too."

I smiled brightly, "Yes, yes of course!"

I kissed Kurapika, "Thank you, baby. What's my last gift."

"Oh I think you know."

I raised an eyebrow and smirked, "Do I now?"

"Mhm," Kurapika leaned forward and kissed me, "Can I?"

"Go right ahead Sunshine."
