I tapped my pen against my the spine of my book. I had today off but I still was doing research for our most recent case.
"Loss of vision..... damage to the liver, kidney, heart and gastrointestinal tract. Other symptoms include fever, yellowing of the skin, vomiting blood, and hemorrhage." I shook my head, "It sounds like yellow fever but loss of vision isn't a symptom of that."
I picked up my phone and texted my team to test for yellow fever before I went back to reading my book and writing down notes.
"Leorio."
"What is it Sunshine?" I said without looking up.
"You know how I like to wear 'feminine' clothes right?"
"Mhm."
"Well I bought a new outfit."
I smiled still not looking up at him, "That's nice Pika, can I see it?" I heard him giggle, "Leorio, I'm already wearing it."
I looked up at him and my heart melted. He was wearing a sky blue skirt with a navy blue crop top sweater with a dress shirt the same color as the skirt underneath it. I put my book down beside me, "You look so beautiful baby."
He moved his hips to make the skirt twirl, "You think I look beautiful?"
"Sunshine, you always look beautiful."
He looked down in embarrassment, "Thank you Leo." I smiled at him, "No need to thank me, I'm just being honest."
He covered his face with his hands embarrassed, "I'm going to make lunch."
I nodded, "Okay you go do that. I'll be working." He looked up at me face still red and nodded, "Okay, and thank you for supporting me about my fashion choice."
I picked my book up and began reading again, "Clothes don't have gender. Besides, skirts and dresses were made for men."
He kissed my check before leaving the room, "I'll call you when the food is ready."
"And I'll answer."
