Kurapika POV

"My lord."

"Excuse me, my lord."

I covered my face with a pillow as she opened up my curtains, "It sure is a beautiful day outside wouldn't you say?"

I groaned, "I don't know. I didn't look."

She let out a sigh, "You have to get up your highness. You have fencing lessons with me at eight, piano lessons at ten, dance lessons at eleven, lunch at twelve forty-five, horse riding lessons at two, and a game of chess with your father to discuss your marriage at three-"

I let out a heavy sigh and removed the pillow from my face, "I don't-"

"You don't want to get married, yes we know. After the chess game I believe the rest of the day is a free until dinner, unless someone calls you."

I sat up and stretched, "Free day? Finally. The last time I got time to myself was like....years ago."

"Really? You had a free day yesterday."

I swung my legs over the edge of my bed, "Until my parents call me." She shrugged, "I guess you're right. Hurry up and get dressed we don't have all day. I have guards to train too!"

I tilted my head and smiled, "Yes thank you Canary."

"You're welcome your highness." As soon as she left the room I got up to look out the window.

I could see some of the kingdom but most of it was blocked by a wall. On the other side of the wall was the garden, flowers grew everywhere along with some bushes and trees. Nothing new, except the kingdom looked like they were celebrating something.

"I don't even know why I bother at this point." I complained, "I mean, mom and dad won't ever let me see the kingdom. So why do I keep looking out my window every morning?"

Canary took off her helmet, "You still haven't lost hope I'm guessing. That's my water."

"Oh sorry, but I looked out my window this morning and the kingdom looked like they were celebrating! I think I saw people dancing around and the ground was painted! Do you know what was goin on?"

She shook her head, "No idea. Why don't you ask the grocery boy when he gets back."

"You know I'm not aloud to see him."

"You still talk to him through the vents. He told me you two are like 'pen pals', it was adorable."

I smiled, "Do you know how old he is? I know he's not my age." She looked up in thought, "He's thirteen, maybe fourteen. That sounds right, fourteen. He looks up to you you know."

I smiled, "He does?"

"Why of course, you're his idol. He wants to be a prince someday. I couldn't crush his dreams."

I giggled, "When I become king maybe I could adopt him. So his dreams won't be shattered." Canary chuckled then took a sip of her water, "You do that. Now come on, break is over! Stand up."

"Yes ma'am."
