Kurapika POV

A few weeks ago, Leorio suggested that we go on a family vacation to Key West. I thought it was a great idea, but as we got closer to when we would arrive, Leorio got more anxious and fidgety every minute. He delayed the flight by ten minutes because he was on a phone call and couldn't put his cell on airplane mode. The plane hated us because Leorio and our baby cried during the flight. After a three-hour flight, we were finally here. Lucy was asleep, Lillian was on the verge of falling asleep, and our luggage was lost.

"Lillian," Leorio said, "Come here."

Lillian stumbled over to her dad. Leorio picked up the girl holding her as if he was giving her a piggyback ride.

"Put your arms over my shoulders. So you don't fall, dear," Leorio muttered.

Lillian did as her dad told her to then quickly dozed off.

"When do you think our luggage will arrive?" I asked, "We can't go anywhere without a car seat for Lucile."

"We'll have to buy some stuff if we don't get it on time. We also need to get a rental car if we're going anywhere," He glanced at me, "You okay, Sunshine?"

I shrugged, "I'm just worried, okay. Come one don't have any of our meds. Lucy doesn't have her food. You've been paranoid for weeks. The only thing we do have is our wallets and Lillian's mini-bookbag."

"At least we have our wallets," Leorio smiled, "That's good."

"Yeah, I guess."

Trying to change the subject, Leorio spoke up, "I can't believe Lucy is sleeping through this noise. She doesn't even sleep this well at home."

I chuckled, "Yeah."

"Once our ride gets here, we'll go straight to the hotel, okay? We can worry about everything else tomorrow," Leorio said.

"Good because I'm super tired," I laughed.

"Me too," Leorio sighed in response, "I just wanna go to bed."

Leorio hoisted Lillian up in his arms. He looked paranoid, glancing around. He saw something in the crowd causing him to pick up speed. I didn't care to ask what he saw or who, but it did worry me.

I tapped my foot. This morning I woke up, and Leorio was gone. I tried calling him, but it went to voicemail every time. Jeez, is this how he feels when I don't answer? Is he fucking with me? I'm going to kill him once he gets back.

Lillian and Lucile were asleep. Leorio was supposed to take me out to breakfast and do other things to me we'd hope the kids won't hear. Now we can't do anything because his dumbass ran off somewhere.

I laid back on the couch and sighed, "You have to be kidding me."

I heard the door open then slam shut.

"Sunshine! Come here, please," Leorio called.

I rolled my eyes, "Why?"

"I need you!" He sounded out of breath, "Bring me a damp washcloth and call hotel service for a first aid kit."

What the fuck.

"Okay..." I mumbled.

I picked up the phone beside the bed and called the hotel service, "Hi, this is Kurapika Paladiknight from suit seventy-six. My husband needs a first aid kit- No, he doesn't need an ambulance, he's a doctor- yes, he's doctor Paladiknight. Please, ma'am, send up the kit. Thank you."

I then went to grab the stuff from the bathroom that Leorio needed, "Babe, why do you need this stuff- Jasna Scheiße! What the hell happened to you?"

Leorio laughed, "What the fuck was that?"

"I didn't say anything. What the fuck happened to you?"

"Nothing."

Something did happen, no doubt about it. Leorio's head was busted open, along with a broken nose and other signs of physical violence.

I started to dab his forehead with the washcloth, "Don't lie to me, Leorio. Tell me what happened."

"You know how we're tight on money right now?" Leorio sighed.

"Yes?"

"That's mostly because of college debt also. Plus, I may owe some money that I should've paid when I graduated high school."

"From what?" I said harshly.

"Just," He hesitated, "I was poor, I needed a way to make money, and I was in a bad neighborhood, so I may have started to deal drugs for this one guy. I was supposed to pay him back, but I didn't. He found me, so I told him he'll get paid soon. So I went to pay him today. I paid back seventy-five percent, but he wanted all of it, so he ganged up on me. I fought back, you know, I always keep a dagger on me. I haven't gotten into a fight since high school," He chuckled, "I'm alright, though. Just bleeding more than usual."

"Lift your head," I muttered, "So you were a drug dealer. Anything else from your past you should tell your husband?"

"I was also a teenage prostitute, by my own choice."

I sighed, "Why did I marry you."

"I'm just joking. I just made some people pay to sleep with me," He sighed, "Anything from your past you should tell me?"

"Not that I can think of, you already know about the Kurta Clan," I glanced up at him, "You better pay all of it back then you better earn all that money back. Leorio, I love you, I'm living for you, but please, stop this. I'm going to get that kit. It should be at the door now, don't move."

"I love you," He smiled.

"I love you too."
