Día de los Muertos pt.1

(This is the family from my highschool AU not previous one-shots)
Kurapika POV

"So where are we going?" I asked Leorio.

"To my family's house to celebrate! It's the first day of Día de los Muertos! Today we celebrate the dead youth...ya know, like Pietro." He replied, but I noticed something, instead of growing at Pietro's name he smiled slightly.

"I'm so excited to meet your family Leorio!" Alluka giggled.

Lillian nodded, "I'm excited to meet them too! They're my family!"

Leorio chuckled, "They are indeed."

"Leorio?" Gon asked from the backseat, "Are we going to come home and celebrate at our ofrenda? I put some people up there in sure won't be on you families."

He looked into the mirror, "Mhm, we will don't worry. I put a few people up there too my family doesn't know about."

Killua shifted in his seat, "Are we finally going to meet your dead-beat dad?"

"Uh, yeah, but his always cheerful on this holiday. So I have no worries." Leorio smiled, "But we're almost there so stop complaining."

Leorio hugged his sister, "Rose! Jesucristo! You look so grown, God! How old are you now?"

"Leorio you can't be serious." She laughed, "I'm fifthteen."

He looked confused, "No, no, that's too old. You're still seven. Have you seen Xio?"

"She's in the kitchen with Ashley and Miguel."

Leorio scoffed, "Dad's still married to her?"

Rose nodded, "I don't know why she's a witch. Speaking of marriage, where's Kurapika?"

I waved at her, "Right here, hi."

She smiled, "Hi! Xiomara has told me about you since Leorio told Xiomara about you! I'm Rose, Leorio's sister. Encantada."

"Um..." I smiled, "Delighted as well."

Leorio looked at me, "You know what that means?"

I shrugged, "I've been practicing, not a lot, but enough."

He smiled, "You're amazing."

"I know." I joked.

Leorio looked at the kids, "You guys can go hangout with the other kids. Killua, Gon, my sister is the same age as you guys."

Gon nodded, "Okay!"

"Alluka you can hang out with the boys if you want, but give Kurapika Lucy. Lilly, hun, can you stay with me please?"

Lillian nodded, "Okay!"

Alluka handed me Lucy and ran off to play with the boys.

I frowned, "Leorio can you take her. Not in the baby mood-"

Leorio shook his head, "No, but let's ask her. Lucy sweetheart, do you want Dada or Papá?"

Lucy made a weird sound, "Dada."

"You see." We began to walk into the living room.

I rolled my eyes, "Leorio she's a baby, she can't speak Spainish."

He shrugged, "She can speak English though-"

"Is that the Leorio Paladiknight?"

Leorio looked up, "Xio! My favorite sister. How are you-"

"No shut it." She crossed her arms, "Why haven't you talked to me in months."

He smiled sweetly, "You haven't changed much since high school huh."

She started tearing up, "No, not really. I just missed you a lot."

She ran up and hugged Leorio, "And to answer your question, I could be better. I see you brought your family with you."

He chuckled, "Yeah I did. The other three are running around here somewhere."

"There's three more?" Xiomara laughed as she wiped her eyes.

"Don't act like that. Dad had how many kids....nine? Plus Ashley's original kids, that's eleven! Speaking of Ashley, what were you two making in the kitchen?" Leorio sat down on the couch, "Kurapika, Lilly." He patted the free seats beside him.

Lillian and I sat down beside him.

Xiomara sighed and sat down in a chair across from us, "We were making bread, ya know. Oh and churros, for Pietro, since you two loved those so much."

I rested my head on Leorio's should and set Lucy in my lap.

Leorio chuckled, "Yeah. We did love them."

Xiomara laughed before looking at me, "Oh I'm so sorry, you must be Kurapika, Lilly, and Lucy. Lillian, Lucy, I'm your Aunt Xiomara."

Lillian smiles, "Hello! You're really pretty."

"Aww thank you."

I smiled, "Mhm, so nice to meet you-"

"Leorio!"

Leorio shut his eyes, "Damn it. Ashley hi." He smiled fakely.

The woman smiled weirdly, "I haven't seen you in forever. You look so...grown."

"Well I see you haven't changed." He mumbled and rolled his eyes. He was clearly uncomfortable.

I cleared my throat, "Hi Ashley, you must be Leorio's step mom. I'm Kurapika, his husband. This is Lilly and Lucy, our kids."

"Oh. Hi."

Leorio grabbed my hand, "Do you wanna dance?"

"Oh I don't know-"

"I promise it's fun! Come one."

"No, I'm tired. Ask Lilly."

Lillian shook her head, "No thanks, I'll stay here with Kurapika."

He frowned, "Aw okay, whatever. Oh! Do you guys wanna see the family ofrenda-"

Ashley tried to talk, "Leo-"

"Shh. Do you guts wanna see the ofrenda? Xiomara and I helped decorate it durning trick-r-treat."

Ashley scoffed and walked back to the kitchen while Xiomara nodded to Leorio's statement.

I looked at Lillian, "Sure why not. It's our family too."

He smiled brightly, "Perfect, Pietro's up there by the way."

"Is he now?" I smiled.

"Of course!"
