Third Person POV

The door flew open abruptly, almost causing Kurapika to jump out of his seat. The blonde shut his book and sighed, "My gods Melody! Could you be any louder?"

"You will not believe what I just heard," His roommate responded.

"What was so unbelievable that you felt the need to slam open my bedroom door?" Kurapika complained.

"The queen has announced that the last Keeper was born! Do you know what that means, Kurapika?" Melody sat beside Kurapika and grabbed his shoulders.

"Our kingdom is saved?"

"Our kingdom is saved!" Melody fell back onto the boy's bed, "Keeper of the Wind and Sky, finally! All we have to do now is wait eighteen winters then the prophecy will ultimately be fulfilled. Oh, I can't wait!"

Kurapika scoffed, "We'll have to be in trouble first. Melody, the kingdom is safe Hadeon was banished years ago. We don't even know if they're the keepers of the forsaken. Everyone thought Frida, Luis, Alex, and Nina were keepers, but Frida's baby was just born. By the time the rightful keepers are born, I'll be married to that sexy healer."

Melody laughed, "You think you're going to marry him? Isn't he like thirty!"

"He is not! He's like the same age as me," The blonde smiled, "I talk to him every time he comes into the shop. He's so kind, and his smile, oh his amazing smile."

Kurapika sighed, "One day, I'll work up the courage to ask him out. I already dropped my cold attitude."

Melody sat up, "Does he even know your name? Do you know his name?"

Kurapika shrugged, "He read my nametag, but he calls me Sunshine because of my attitude. 'You act so mean, but I can see the light in your eyes every time I walk through that door, Sunshine.' Ugh, he drives me crazy! He's so fucking hot, Melody."

Melody shook her head. She's never been fond of Kurapika's taste in men, probably because she likes women, but she has never even met the infamous healer but based on what Kurapika has told her, he sounds like some playboy.

Kurapika sighed lovely, even if he barely knew the man he was head-over-heels for him. The man would flirt with Kurapika, Kurapika flirted back occasionally, sometimes playing with his hair or giggling like a little girl.

Melody chuckled, "What's his name?"

"Well...I don't know how to say it-"

"You've been coming home giggling and swooning over him for two winters and you don't know how to pronounce his name?"

Kurapika shook his head, "I know, I think it's Leorio or something? I don't know it's in some weird language, he's a Vretiel."

"He's a Vretiel? Kurapika they're almost extinct are you sure?"

"Yes!" Kurapika smiled.

A Vretiel is a type of healer, they are known to have healing magic in them rather than having the ability to learn it like Semyazas or Karaels. Only a few are left according to the books, most of them were wiped out due to an unknown illness that had become genetic, the Vretiel will soon all die out if a cure isn't found or made soon.

Melody sat back, "Wow...and you aren't worried about what may happen? I heard the disease is an extremely painful death, if you do end up with him, you'll have to watch him go through the worst death that has ever been known."

Kurapika sighed, "I know, I can't imagine what it'll be like."

Kurapika glanced up at the clock, "Frikysh, I have to get to work. Bye, see you tonight."

"Goodbye."

* * *

Kurapika hummed as he awaited to hear the shop's bell. The healer usually comes into the shop around this time but sadly he hasn't arrived yet. Kurapika tapped his fingers on the counter waiting for any customer to come in. The shop had only been open for a little over two years on some lousy lane therefore it wasn't a very big business yet, but Kurapika still enjoyed working there despite the low pay. The only people who come into the shop are mostly those who can't afford the more expensive stores.

"Well don't you look darling today," Leorio took off his hood and smiled.

Kurapika smiled and stood up, "Darling?"

"Yes, darling. New hair I see, it looks very nice. And I see you also bought new earrings," The Vretiel said as he scanned the shelf, "Do you have any ginger-root in the back? I kinda need it, I'm working on a new potion..."

"I don't think I'll ever understand why you make potion instead of buying them, they're all thirty percent off right now," Kurapika sang.

"Exactly why I'm not buying them," Leorio grabbed a few things off the shelf, "Spending more helps you get more money, plus I'm not an elf so I prefer to do it myself than be lazy and buy it. Making it by yourself is more efficient too. Ginger-root?"

"Oh yes."

Kurapika walked into the back and scanned the shelves, there were many different things. Potions, spell books, crystals, etc. but it didn't take long for Kurapika to find the ginger root.

Kurapika grabbed the ingredient off the shelf and headed back to the front of the store, "Your ginger-root good sir."

Leorio grinned, "Thank you."

Kurapika went back behind the counter running his hand the worn-out wood, "I was wondering, you're a Vretiel correct?"

"Mhm."

"Shouldn't you be married by now? I heard since you're all dying that arranged marriages have been getting more popular to keep you're kind alive, so why aren't you married?"

"That's a personal question," The man glanced at Kurapika, "why, are you interested?"

Kurapika felt his face heat up, "If you answer my question I'll let you ask a personal question about me. Fair deal?"

Leorio sighed, "I suppose."

The healer walked up to the encounter and set his stuff down, "In our culture the woman gets the man's wealth therefore 'm not married yet because of my family's wealth, not any other type of healer wants to marry into my family. I'm saying people don't want to marry me because, come on look at me, I'm saying that my family is too poor for marriage. I'm the only male my parents have had, all my sisters are married."

"Oh, well-"

"Personal question about you," Leorio smiled, "What are you doing after work?"

Kurapika knew he was blushing, hard, "Well- nothing actually, why?"

"Because lately I've been thinking a lot about you. Like how the tip of your ears turn red when you blush, how you twirl your hair talking to me, the way you giggle at my dumb jokes, and how blue your eyes are for an elf."

Kurapika realized how he was infact twirling his hair as Leorio spoke to him. Of course someone like Leorio would be able to recognize such a small detail about someone but Kurapika also realizes small things about Leorio like how he didn't have a ring, how his pants barley cover his entire ankle, the glow in his eyes talking about a new healing potion, and how curly his hair gets when it rains outside.

Kurapika clearedhis throat, "IF you're about to ask me on a date the answer is yes."

Leorio smiled, "Good, what time does your shift end?"

"In an hour," Kurapika beamed.

"See you in two, bye Sunshine."
