It's hard to get out of day to day life
Wake up, go to school, work, sleep
Wake up, go to school, work, sleep
Wake up, go to school, work, sleep
And somehow
Shove into the smallest intervals of time
Between the fine line of sanity and anxiety
Time for basic needs
Such as eating, bathing, and you know breathing
When is the last time
You were able to just breathe
For a few seconds
Without the weight of the world
Heavy in your chest like water in your lungs
Without lead chained to your feet
Constructed by the worries you
Melded yourself
To the bottom of the river you go
And everyone is on the sidelines
With their oxygen masks on screaming
In incoherent bubbles
"It gets better!"But it seems so hard
To cut off the chains
That keep you there on the bottom
Where you are lifeless
All is in slow motion
Little light can reach the bottom
And what sun you used to know
Is shut away for months on end
As winter rolls in
Bringing the season
Of death
Cold
Longing for the sun's warm embrace
Of lifeBut it's something you barely know anymore
You're a mix drink
Concocted on the idea
That life "has it's ups and downs"
When all you have known
Is the bottom
