I knew a girl
Who wrote and drew
She said it always
Got her through
I knew a girl
Who was always dying her hair
She was tall and smiled nicely
But wasn't always there
I knew a girl
Who was a lot like me
She smiled around her friends
But her scars you'd never see
I knew a girl
Who didn't eat a lot
She always said she ate before
But for skinniness she fought
I knew a girl
Who wore bracelets on her wrist
I did too, you see
Neither of us wanted to exist
I knew a girl
Who met me at my door
Tears ran down her cheeks
For the love that she longed for
I knew a girl
Who cried more that I'd admit
Because the boys she dated
Treated her like shit
I knew a girl
Who wanted to be dead
Her fate, I hate to say,
Still fills me with dread
I knew a girl
Who wrapped her lips around a gun
I knew a girl who was my world
My star, my moon, my sun
