Cold and Numb

The darkness was easy

I was numb and cold

And for once

I didn't feel.

I didn't feel their eyes

Pressing into my flesh

And picking me apart

Limb from limb

And I didn't feel their words

Cut into my vein

And cause a puddle of crimson

To pool on my sink

And I certainly didn't feel

The ever-growing pressure

That compressed me to nothing

Throughout this endeavor

But now it's easy

I don't need to breath

I don't need to see

All of the pain

Has fled from me
