Mourning Skies

In my mind

They told me I can't change
What had happened that day
But ever since then
My mind's given way

The darkness has entered.
Although I scream and shout
I know there will never
Be any way out

I'm held inside a choke hold
As I fall beneath the waves
The demon has come for me
My sanity it craves

My eyes have lost their color
My smiles faded away
I say that I'll be fine,
Just know I'll be okay

By the slightest of degrees
I've felt them take control
Now they've taken over
I've taken my final toll
