I want to know how it felt
To feel each tear stream down your face
When you told me you were broken
And there was no way to brace
For the storm that
was bound to hit home
And every moment drawing nearer
Seethed with anxiety and you dove
Into the waves where they crashed like
Voices on the shore
Screaming "fuck, you mean nothing,
Don't you stay a second more"
I want to know how it felt
When it all came crashing down
When the vessel capsized
And your smile turned to a frown
When the voices in your head
Turned to scars on your hips
When every time someone asked
Lies poured from your lips
How did you go on
knowing she was all alone
Sitting in bed with her voice belting
"Pick up the phone!"
I want to know how it felt
When she opened the door
To find you in a sea of your blood
Crimson flooded the floor
Out on the staircase
you left a note that hardly read,
"I hope you're reading this
The moment that you find me dead"
I want to know how it felt
When every night she cried
Waking from nightmares each sleep
Of seeing you when you died
How the breath left her chest
Like a blow to her heart
Like a fall from one thousand feet
And she's drenched in sweat from the start
I want to know what it sounded like
When your mother's sanity snapped
As the phone dropped to the floor
And from her mouth cries were trapped
Because who wants to wake up
When the world turns through
And each sunrise and set
Is a day vacant without you
And who wants to see
Each smile and clap
When all they can witness
Is reality's slap
Into perspective
they see
A world without
Me
