You told me not to drive
When the pain really bore down
But it's become the only option
When I want to leave town
So I grabbed the keys
And stormed out the door
Into the rain
Watching it pour
Dark clouds rolled in
To fit the growing mood
Doors unlocked
I can finally brood
Over reminisced times
And I long to cry
I want to rip out my lungs
Wishing for a reason why
I pulled out of the drive
And into the lane
Watching tears drop and
Simply fade with the rain
That's when I lost it
Pounding on the wheel
Sobs racking my ribs
Wishing to again to feel
Anything but this hole
That you've left in my heart
Because when you left me
You took with you that part
Now glass shatters
This time it's near
A siren sounds
It's as I fear
There's blood in my eyes
And it's from my chest
Dripping in puddles
Upon my cheek they rest
As the light fades out
I hear you say,
"I told you not
To drive this way."
