Restless nights bring restless minds
Staring at clocks and wasting time
Tossing in covers too hot or cold
Insomnia has taken it's hold
When you beg for relief
In the simplest of sleep
The dreams feel worlds away
For when you wake up it's all grey
Who would want to go back
To a world faded black
When your mind rages like a storm
And you have never felt the warm
Waking up is the hardest
It's as if you're tied into a harness
And counting the straps you fear
There's no escape near
So you stay in bed
Drown the monsters in your head
With dreams you long for
But nightmares knock at the door
And they take over with ease
If there's any hope, please
Find a way into my brain
And keep me from going insane
I can't lose what little I had in the first place
