I know I'm not what you wanted
I know I could try to be
But the simple trouble with that
Is that would never be meBut in all honesty
Who would chose this child?
The one with insecurities
And insanity driving them wild? You raised me under
Your lock and key
But I've learned so much
Now that I am freeThe world is not as you said
Filling me with heavy fear
I've found beauty nearly everywhere
Everywhere but hereAnd maybe I you can say I'm only seeing
Greener grass on the other side
But the hard truth is
There's no life in the place you thriveYou live off the ignorance
Inside your own little world
But the truth is it's not the place
For your little girlManufactured by
The teachings of your youth
To starve and deprive
Any sign of the truthThe chains you
Wrapped around my mind
Have rusted and twisted
With the growing timeAnd I find it easier to break
With every breath I takeThe clean air purifies me
And I am set free
