In my side
She resides
Forever under
My skin
Where she lies
I can't win
Her life is worth a
Million more than mine
If I could find the words
To prove to her this time
God she's my everything
Don't take her away
I promise to do better
I promise I won't stray
God please let her stay
She never wanted it to be this way
Up the staircase she floated
Like a feather in the sky
Dropped to the floor
Off her lips slid the lie
Swore she was okay
But each passing day
The weight grew heavier and heavier
And now she can't stop
Her heart swelled with pain
Now she's floating up, up
Coming down is the hardest
Hit the floor like cement
Bound to the body
She grew to resent
It's not right
It can't be
Put me in her place
Put the pain on me
I know it's hard
To take on grief
But I can lock it up
Underneath
Lock and key in my heart
Swallow the key
It's okay
Just let me be
