You peak away from the screen
You feel your hair stand on end
You push back the thought
It's not the first time this happened

You should be much more careful
Of things you cannot see
They're very powerful
Much stronger than you and me

You've heard every story
Of childrens' fear of them all
You never payed much attention
Until you saw that shadow fall

"It's in your head,"
You say in a voice that's slow
That's when you see
The curtain blow

You spin around
To find it's cause
All you hear
Are scraping claws

The lights flicker off
Your panic cues
You walk downstairs
To check the fuse

You near the basement
And open the door
Your mind goes blurry
At the sight on the floor

It's your body that's there
And it's stripped of its skin
All you can see
Are what lies within

You turn with a grin
And it spreads to a smile
Looks like your kind
Will be here a while
