FLASHBACK #1

HALLOWEEN - JUNIOR YEAR

"Isn't being a devil and an angel such a stereotypical costume?" Sophie asked Maddy as she walked out in an angel costume.

"Yeah, it is, but I've been dying to do this costume with you, bitch." Maddy said, admiring her red lingerie in the mirror.

Sophie glanced at herself, looking at the white lingerie and angel wings that she had struggled to put on and noticed something was missing.

"Uhhh, where did my halo go?"

"It's in the bathroom, I think."

Sophie walked over to Maddy's bathroom and sighed in relief when she saw her halo. She placed it on her head and fixed her curled hair.

"Are the others even coming? It's literally almost time to go."

Maddy scoffed, "I doubt it. They would have been here by now, but I guess they'll just meet us at Daniel's."

Now, Daniel had thrown the annual Halloween party each year. And he typically threw a Christmas party and New Year's and Valentines's day and was responsible for any party during a "holiday".

"Want one?" Maddy asked as she pulled out molly.

Sophie shook her head, "I'm good with my alcohol, but thank you."

"You know, Nate thinks you should try it too." Maddy said before she took it.

"I'd rather not. I've seen Rue and I don't really want to go down that road."

"Bitch, like you aren't chugging back alcohol like it's water every weekend?" Maddy laughed as Sophie pulled the bottle away from her lips.

"Oh, whatever." Sophie laughed as her phone buzzed.

Lexi
hey, where are you guys?

Sophie
still at Maddy's

Lexi
ok well please hurry up we just got to Daniels and Cassie ditched me

Sophie
typical, but we will be there soon

Lexi
you better

"Lexi texted me saying Cassie already ditched her."

Maddy rolled her eyes, "Sounds about right, are you ready?"

"Are you?"

"Yes bitch." Maddy said, glancing at herself once more before grabbing her bag.

Sophie grabbed her bag and followed Maddy out of the house. Typically, Maddy's mom would drive them, but her parents were in a screaming match over the fact that her dad lost yet another job.

"They're so fucking annoying. Like he's so lazy and she does all the work."

"I feel bad for your mom, she tries her best."

"Yeah and she really shouldn't. My dad isn't worth it."

"Do you think he will ever get a stable job?"

Maddy glanced at Sophie before looking away, "I hope he does so the arguments can stop, but I honestly doubt it."

Sophie threw her arm around Maddy and pulled her in as they walked.

"Okay, enough of this sappy shit. Let's drink." Maddy said pulling tequila out of her bag.

"Tequila? Bold." Sophie said as Maddy gagged taking a sip.

"I forgot how bad it was." She said, handing the bottle to Sophie.

Sophie took a deep breath in and took a swig. Vodka was usually her go to, but tequila was a close second.
