Chapter Thirty-One

Sophie got out of bed the next morning dreading the fact that she had to go to school.

"Good morning sweetie. I made you some breakfast." Brenda said as she walked into the kitchen, "Are you sure you want to go to school today?"

Sophie hesitated for a few moment before sighing, "Yeah, there's only two more days until the weekend, so, I'll be fine."

"You can call me at any time if you want to be sent home, alright? I can talk to the principal and-"

"Mom, it's okay." Sophie said as she sat down and started to eat her eggs.

"Alright." Brenda sighed, taking a sip of her coffee.

Sophie had texted Maddy and Cassie last night to let them know what was going on. She told Cassie to fill Lexi in, but she was sure that she didn't care. Also, Nate had texted her literally a thousand time and called her at least 40. But she put him on do not disturb because she really didn't want to talk to him right now, even though she would have to see him today. And that's why she texted Maddy and Cassie. She needed a game plan, she couldn't walk in alone because he would try and corner her. Even though she had classes with him that Maddy and Cassie weren't in, she knew that at least one of them would be looking out for her. It wasn't like she was scared of Nate or anything, right? She just wanted to take some time away from him. They needed it.

Maddy
morning baby mama
do ya wanna pick me up today? if not I know Cassie can

Sophie
yes I'll pick u up
I don't want to walk in alone

text me when you leave

Sophie
okay :)

Sophie finished up her breakfast and her mom grabbed her plate from her the second she was done and handed her her lunch bag.

"Here you go."

"Thanks mom." Sophie said with a smile, "I'm going to get dressed."

Sophie got up and headed upstairs to quickly change. She stared at her closet for a few minutes before deciding on a pair of light blue maternity jeans with rips in the knees and a grey long sleeve. She washed her face and applied a bit of makeup before quickly brushing her teeth. She decided to put her hair in a high ponytail, since it was kind of a mess and she didn't feel like making herself look too presentable.

"Bye mom, I love you." Sophie said, giving her mom a hug after she gathered up all of her things.

"Bye Soph, I love you too. Have a good day. Call me if you need me." Brenda said, giving her a smile.

Sophie slipped her feet into her Nike's and headed out the door, getting into her car.

Maddy

Sophie started her car and drove to Maddy's, where she came running out in a cute mini skirt and a turtleneck shirt.

"You look cute." Sophie said as she got into the car.

"Oh, please." Maddy rolled her eyes, "Look at you, baby mama."

Sophie giggled and drove off, letting out a sigh, which made Maddy turn towards her.

"Hey, it's going to be alright. I know you don't want to see him, but let's be real, you're going to have to see him for a long time. And you'll get used to that."

"Will I?"

"Yes, don't worry."

"What are the odds that he's waiting in the parking lot for me?"
