Chapter Eighty-One

Sophie and Nate had a few visitors the next day. BB and Kat came together, then Maddy and Lexi again. Jules even came while Nate was at home, grabbing stuff for Sophie, since they were spending one more night in the hospital.

"Congratulations! She's so sweet." Jules hugged her, "You're still glowing."

"Oh, stop."

"I brought you a gift."

"Is it something handmade?"

Jules shrugged, "Maybe."

Sophie opened the bag to find a few handmade hats and bows, along with two cute little dresses.

"Jules! They're perfect. You're so fucking sweet."

"It's the least I could do." Jules said.

Now, Jules wasn't sure if Sophie knew about the disc. She figured she did, which was fine, if she was in that situation, she wouldn't know what the fuck to do either.

"Nate gave me the disc last night."

"He did?"

Jules nodded, "You knew?"

Sophie nodded, guilt on her face, "Yeah, I convinced him to give it to you. I wanted to give it to you way earlier."

"I'm glad he did." Jules paused, "He said I wouldn't believe what he had to go through to get the disc, do you know anything about that?"

Sophie was confused. She gave Nate the disc back, but she couldn't admit to Jules that she watched it.

"No? Because he had it, well, Cal, um, he had it."

"Anyways, it's behind me now."

"I'm glad you got it back. I am. I was wondering what he was doing when we couldn't reach him last night."

"You couldn't reach him?"

"Nope, not for like four hours."

"Oh." She nodded before glancing over at Mia.

"Do you want to hold her?"

"I don't want to intrude or anything-"

"No, you're not. It's totally up to you."

Jules smiled, "Yeah, sure."

"Okay, ready? Okay, make sure you support her neck, great."

"She feels so small."

"Yeah, she does." Sophie said as she pulled out at her phone, "Smile. Mia's first picture with Auntie Jules."

Auntie Jules. Plus a sweet little baby. A sweet, small, innocent and fucking adorable baby.

Jules smiled, looking down at the baby in her arms, "Keep her out of the chaos, okay? She's so sweet to be in the middle of it."

"Not planning on it." Sophie sighed, "Hey, by the way, did they find Rue the other night? With the intervention and her running off?"

"She ran off?"

"Yeah, wait, I thought, I thought you and Elliot told her mom and then they had the intervention and she showed up at my place-"

"Wait, what? Okay, hold on." Jules took a breathe, "We told Leslie, then staged an intervention. Rue was, Rue was cruel, very cruel, but she's an addict, so, I understand. And you're saying they didn't go to the hospital? Or rehab? She ran off?"

"She was running around town away from her mom. She ended up at my place, in withdrawal, and uh, then she went to the bathroom, we called Leslie. She tried running when Leslie was here, Nate tried to grab her and she but Nate, kicked him in the balls and punched him in the nose."
