The next two weeks flew by for Sophie. Wake up, go to school, go to history, then biology, have lunch, then chemistry, then math, go to cheerleading practice and finally, go home and sleep. She was exhausted and nauseous most of the time, but that didn't stop her.

"Sweetie, don't forget your ultrasound is at 6:30!" her mom said, the second she got home from school.

"I know." she threw her backpack on the ground and laid down on the couch, "I'm so tired."

"Have you told your coach that you're pregnant yet?"

"No." she mumbled as she closed her eyes.

"Is Nate still going?"

She opened her eyes and grabbed her phone and texted Nate.

Sophie
do you still want to come to my ultrasound tonight? it's at 6:30

Nate
yeah, I'll pick you up at 6

"Yeah, he's coming." she put her phone down and closed her eyes again.

"I'm glad he's still interested in going."

"Mom, he probably doesn't care. We've barely talked in the last two weeks."

Sophie was right, even though they saw each other all day at school, they never talked. Even when she was the "designated driver" for the parties the last two weekends, she gave him a ride home and he was silent the entire way. Surprisingly, no one questioned why she wasn't drinking, which was a good thing. Nate and Maddy seemed like they were back in the honeymoon phase since every time she saw them, they were all over each other and it made her sick.

"I'm sure he cares. Do you want me to make you some supper before I leave for my shift?" her mom asked and Sophie nodded.

"Okay, what do you want?" her mom asked, getting up and heading over to the kitchen.

"Is there any chicken left?"

"Yes, do you want me to make you a fajita?"

"Sure, that sounds good."

"Go shower while I make your food."

Sophie groaned, getting up and picking her bag up before heading upstairs to shower. She changed into black shorts and a pink t-shirt, then headed back downstairs.

"Here you go." her mom said, handing her the plate with her fajita on it.

"You're the best." she said before eating her dinner. She put the plate in the dishwasher and got a glass of water.

"When do you have to go for your shift?" she asked, sipping on her water.

"I'm going to go in now so I have time to catch up on everything during the shift change." her mom said, grabbing her things before giving Sophie a hug, "If you need me, page me. I'll come running to the ultrasound department."

Sophie laughed, "Okay mom. Have a good shift."

"Thanks, love you!"

Sophie smiled, "Love you too!"

Her mom left and Sophie was alone, again. She was stressing out about going to her ultrasound, only because of Nate. She sat on the couch and kept herself calm until her phone buzzed.

Nate
im almost at your house

Already? She checked the time, 6:05. She got up and grabbed her purse and threw on her black vans, watching as Nate's truck pulled up outside. She took a few deep breaths before going outside. She locked the door and then got into Nate's truck.
