VALENTINE'S DAY

SENIOR YEAR

Nate walked up to Sophie's locker with a small smile on his face.

"Soph?"

She turned around as Maddy looked between the two, smirking slightly.

"Yeah?"

"We're going for dinner tonight. We have reservations at 6 PM. There's a dress waiting for you at home."

"Wait, what-"

"I'll see you tonight." He said with a wink as Maddy bit her lip.

"What just happened?"

"I think you've got a Valentine, girl."

"He didn't even give me a chance to respond."

"I think that was the point." Maddy said as she closed her locker, "But you said things have been good, minus Cassie still losing her shit."

"Yeah, no, everything's been really, really great."

"And that's all that matters right now." Maddy smiled.

She might of helped Nate plan the entire thing, but only after bitching him out for almost an hour.

She did make him cry a bit, and knew she had hit a nerve with her words.

But, she was just trying to protect her best friend.

And Nate knew that Maddy would come after him if he didn't keep to his word.

He promised Maddy a lot of things regarding Sophie, and he wanted to stay true to it.

Maddy's eyes glanced down at her belly and then widened, "Okay, I didn't even notice your belly had dropped until now."

"What? No it hasn't." Sophie said, looking down.

"Girl, yes it has."

"I didn't even realize."

"That means she's getting ready to come out!" Maddy exclaimed, making Sophie smile, "Oh my god, if she comes in 2 days, she can be birthday twins with Aunt Maddy!"

"Wouldn't that be special?"

"Oh, it would be the best birthday gift ever." Maddy said, "But I mean, if she wants to wait 9 days, she can come on your birthday."

Maddy and Sophie's birthdays were exactly a week apart.

Maddy's being February 16th, and Sophie's being February 23rd.

"That would be a great birthday gift."

"By the way, we decided we're doing the birthday bash on your birthday, since we did it on mine last year."

"Sounds good, but do you want your gift on your actual birthday, or at the party?"

"At the party, of course!"
