SOPHIE'S BABY SHOWER - SENIOR YEAR

As soon as Brenda and Marsha found out that the baby was a girl, they began to plan a baby shower. Sophie let them take control, as she has no clue what to do in the first place. She knew that having a baby shower this early was a good thing, as everything would be prepared for when their daughter arrived in a few short months.

"We need to talk about our living situation when she gets here." Nate said, as he got under Sophie's covers beside her.

"What were you thinking?"

Nate pulled her closer to him and she rested her head on his chest, "My moms going to be upset with me for saying this but, I think we should turn one of your second guest bedroom into the baby's room. Not the one your grandma stays in, but the other one that was once your dads office."

"Yeah, that's a good idea, but why would your mom be mad?"

"Because she wants the baby to have a room at our house too, except we don't have a spare room. She was visibly upset when I talked to her about it the other day, like, when I mentioned that I'd be staying here for a majority of the time."

Sophie frowned, "Marsha can move in here too. We do have the other guest bedroom."

"Don't remind her."

"Hey, between our moms we'd have so much help. It would be amazing."

"You're right about that. I honestly don't know much about babies, but I've been trying to learn. My mom gave me the book she read when she was pregnant and I've been reading it."

Sophie smiled up at him, "Really?"

Sophie was baffled. Nate reading a pregnancy book? This is something she never saw coming.

"Yeah, I mean, I'd rather be somewhat prepared."

"I'm glad you're doing that for her."

"I'm doing it for you too." Nate kissed her forehead as she rolled onto her side.

He turned his body towards hers and cuddled her from behind, placing his hand on her growing bump.

"I love you."

"I love you too." She replied before falling asleep.

After a few weeks of preparation, Brenda and Marsha had finally set a date for Sophie's baby shower. Unfortunately in the midst of planning it, Sophie and Nate had a huge argument. You know, the one were she took the CD from his house and they were yelling at each other and getting insight from Cal on how toxic their relationship was? Yeah, that fight that ended things. However, even though Sophie was visibly distressed most of the time except for when Nate began to sneak in and visit her, she was looking forward to the baby shower. She was excited to put the baby's room together and have everything prepared. Basically, the shower was held the weekend after Nate's party, you know, when he snuck in and told her about the name "Mia" at like 2 am. Thankfully, it was going to be a small get together, just as Sophie had wanted in the first place because she really didn't need more than 15 people there for her and the baby.

"Was Nate here again last night?" Brenda asked as the two of them ate breakfast, "I thought I saw him sneak out this morning."

"Um, yeah, he was."

"What's up with that?"

"Nothing, really."

"Nothing? You're telling me him coming over constantly to see you is nothing?"
