ENJOY XOXO

Sophie watched as Maddy, McKay, Cassie and two others carried Nate outside. Maddy was really only holding Nate's leg because she had a strong hold on Sophie, casually tugging her along with them. Maddy shoved Sophie in the back, along with Cassie before they all climbed in Sophie's car. McKay rode shotgun as the two girls in the back had Nate laying across them and Maddy was driving because well, Sophie was not in any condition to drive with the shit that went down.

"Sophie, how the fuck do you start this car? Hey, hey? Where's the key?" Maddy asked her.

"Push start." Sophie mumbled through her tears, "Press the brake and push the button."

"Fucking confusing ass new cars." Maddy mumbled as she started Sophie's car and they took off to the hospital.

Nate's large hand was wrapped around Sophie's as she and Cassie both held back tears in the backseat. Maddy, too, batted tears away as she hated seeing not only Sophie in so much distress, but Nate too. He was a dick, but did he really deserve all of this? And in front of Sophie?

"Nate." Sophie whined as she squeezed his hand and he gently squeezed back. His eyes were already swollen shut and he looked absolutely awful.

When they got to the hospital and pulled up to the emergency department, doctors came running out. And Sophie's mom was one of them. As soon as she saw the tall brown haired guy, she knew who it was. She watched her blood and tear filled daughter get out of the car, along with her friends. They wheeled Nate inside as they followed.

"What happened? What happened?" Brenda asked as they followed Nate.

"Mom, I don't, I don't know, just take care of him please." Sophie sobbed.

"We've got him, okay? Here, take my sweater and cover up." She offered her daughter her sweater to cover the hickeys all over her and gave her a small smile as they brought him in, "Maddy, Cassie, make sure she stays here, okay? And contact Marsha and Cal now."

Maddy nodded as Sophie put on the sweater her mom handed her. Maddy then wrapped her arm around her as Cassie and McKay walked behind them.

"Cass, can you and McKay take Sophie's car to her house?"

"Sure thing, Mads." McKay said as Sophie handed over her keys, "C'mon Cass."

"Shouldn't we stay to make sure Nate is okay?"

"They won't let us all in, Cass. Just keep us in the loop, alright?" McKay said as Maddy nodded.

"Thank you." Sophie whispered as McKay hugged her and then Cassie did the same. And it was awkward. Why was it so awkward?

"C'mon." Maddy said, walking her to the waiting room, "Let's call his parents."

The two girls sat down and Sophie dialled Marsha, and the phone rang and rang. She honestly wasn't sure if she would answer since it was after midnight.

"Hi Sophie."

"Marsha-" her voice broke.

"What happened? What's wrong?"

"It's Nate." She sobbed, "He's, he's in the emergency room, he got, uh, he got beat up. It's bad."

"Oh my god, um alright, uh Cal? Cal? Okay, Sophie, we will be there soon honey, okay? Thank you."

"Okay." Sophie said as she hung up the phone.

Maddy wrapped her arm around Sophie again and interlocked their hands, comforting her when she clearly needed it most.
