Chapter Seventy

"Happy birthday Maddy!" Sophie said as soon as Maddy opened the door, still in her silk pajama's.

Maddy smiled and pulled her into a hug, "My favourite bitch, get in here!"

She pulled her inside the house and the two girls quickly went to Maddy's room.

"How's your big day so far?"

"My dad acknowledged me for about ten minutes today before he left to go wherever and um, my moms working, so, you coming here is the best part of my dad so far."

Sophie frowned, "Mads."

"Don't get all sappy with me. I like being alone. Honestly." Maddy said, glancing at her nails then back up at Sophie, "So, when did you get back from the big city?"

"We were barely in the city."

"Please, you were right downtown."

"How do you know?"

"Girl, cut the crap. Your mom and I helped Nate plan the whole thing, okay?"

Sophie smiled, "I knew it."

"So tell me about it!"

"What do you wanna know, Mads?"

"Everything! How was it? Like you just spent a full 36 hours with Nate. You guys stayed an extra night too, so there had to be a reason for that."

"It was fun. And relaxing. And we actually got to spend quality time together and didn't have to worry about all the outside drama." Sophie said, smiling, "We did talk about literally everything, from the whole New Year's situation to our future together."

"Have you forgiven him yet?"

"Not exactly. I'm just taking it one day at a time."

"Okay, that's probably a good idea. Did you guys have sex?"

"Maddy!"

"I've been dying to know. You've been deprived of dick, so-"

"No, we didn't."

"What?" Maddy's jaw dropped, "You're telling me you two spent that much time together and didn't fuck?"

"Uh, yeah. You know there's such thing as a connection without sex?"

"I know that, but between the two of you, I don't know, I really though you two would cave."

"I almost did. A few times. Like, when we were in the bath and he kissed my back, I literally thought about turning around and just diving right in."

"In the bath? Wait, you're telling me you two took a bath?"

"Yeah."

"Together?"

"Yeah." Sophie smiled, "He set up a nice bubble bath for me, and then he joined too."

"Are you sure we are talking about the same Nate?"

"I think so."

"I'm kidding. He was being so sweet when he came and talked to me. Of course, I didn't help him easily. I made him feel bad."

"That doesn't surprise me." Maddy shot her a glare, "I mean that as a compliment."

"Sure you do." Maddy said with a laugh.

"Tell me about bowling."

"Oh fuck, I mean, it was tons of fun. Also, there's definitely something going on with like Rue, Elliot and Jules, which was kind of off putting."
