I have been rewatching Euphoria and I realized how much I missed writing this book. I do still have plans to wait until season three, but I think this little glimpse into the future can help us hold off for a bit longer. I may do several of these over the next period of time in order to fuel our love for both this story, and the show. This is partially from the archives but also just something I was thinking about and wanted to write!
Also - it felt so fucking good to write as Nate and Sophie again. I truly love who they turned out to be. They've come a long way from Chapter One, as you all can see.
Please enjoy. If you have any requests, please comment them again and maybe, just maybe, I can create a long chapter with said requests in mind.
Love you all.
Without further ado...
FOUR YEARS LATER...
*Sophie & Nate are 23, Mia is 5*
Sophie dropped her bag the second she got in the door, letting out a tired sigh as she slowly walked into the kitchen only to be greeted by Nate, who gave her a warm smile.
"Hey, babe. How was your night? You have a good shift?"
She had just got off of her fifth night shift and she was absolutely exhausted.
Reaching for a glass of water, she replied to him, "Yeah."
Nate nodded, "Mia should be awake soon-"
"I have to go to bed, Nate. I'm exhausted."
That's usually how it was lately. I mean, she did still make time for Mia, but recently with Nate, not so much.
"Okay." He replied as she began to walk up the stairs, "Good talk."
She didn't feel like fighting right now so she went straight to their room and shut the door. All they did was fight or bicker lately. They were on opposite schedules and it was really fucking with them. Like I mentioned, she tried to spend enough time with Mia, but she felt like it was never enough, especially now since she was in school.
Stripping out of her scrubs, she turned on the shower and got in, enjoying her peace and quiet. That was, until, Nate decided to knock softly and come in.
"What?"
"Soph, we can't keep doing this." He said in a low tone, sulking slightly.
She huffed, "I know."
This wasn't something she wanted to talk about right now. Maybe that was selfish. But honestly, her head was pounding and she was so fucking tired.
"We barely talk. We barely do anything together. I can't, I don't even remember the last time we had sex!" He exclaimed, "Not to mention, I don't remember the last time you told me you loved me."
Sadly, she knew that was true. But she also knew she loved him with all of her heart. She just hadn't shown it recently, and clearly, it had gotten to him. It made her feel bad, it did.
"I know, Nate."
"Well, what do you want to do?"
"I don't know. I'm tired." She groaned in response as he sighed, putting his head in his hands.
He really didn't want to get angry with her. He didn't like fighting with her. But they were at a breaking point. And he wanted them to thrive, so he needed to speak up.
So, he got angry. Slightly.
He didn't want to wake up Mia. And he didn't want Mia to see her parents fighting.
