Chapter 48: The Mentor And The Protege

(One Week Later)

Y/N's POV

So MJ and I are in my apartment sitting on the couch and I'm looking at Barry who is sitting in the kitchen coloring.

As I'm in my thoughts, MJ's voice brings me out of them.

Mary Jane: Y/N.

Y/N: Huh? What'd you say?

Mary Jane: I said, they didn't find a body.

Y/N: Oh uh no. No. They didn't.

Mary Jane: Do you think she's alive?

I lean back on the couch.

Y/N: Honestly I have no idea.

Mary Jane: She did leave you her...your...both.... Barry.

Y/N: Yeah.

Mary Jane: How is he?

Y/N: He's um.... He misses his mother.

Mary Jane: So do you.

I look at her.

Y/N: Huh?

Mary Jane: It's not hard to see that you were in love with Felicia.

Y/N: MJ.

She puts her hand on mine.

Mary Jane: Hey, don't. It's okay. Y/N, I will always love you, but we were never meant to be together. We'll always be best friends.

Y/N: Best friends. I like that.

Mary Jane: So do I.

My phone beeps and I see it's Miles.

Y/N: Dang it.

Mary Jane: What's wrong?

Y/N: It's Miles. I forgot that today I was gonna help him web swing.

Mary Jane: Wow. So he's finally at that stage.

Y/N: Yeah, though I'll tell him I can't cause of Barry.

Mary Jane: I'll watch him.

I look at her.

Y/N: What?

Mary Jane: I'll look after him while you go train Miles.

Y/N: I couldn't ask you to do that MJ. I mean it's not weird considering all that's happened?

Mary Jane: Y/N, I'm here to help. I want to help. We may not be together but I'm still here for you.

Y/N: Are you sure?

Mary Jane: Yes, go.

I stand up.

Y/N: Okay.

I then look over at Barry and I go over to him and kneel down.

Y/N: Hey bud. I'll be back later. But your aunt MJ is gonna stay here with you. Would that be okay?

Barry looks over at MJ and then he looks at me and nods.

Y/N: Great. I'll be back later.

I then stand up and I go grab my suit and head to Miles.

Mary Jane's POV

After Y/N leaves, I go over and sit down at the table with Barry, I really felt bad for him. He lost his mother and nothing could ever make that okay.

As I stare at him, he looks up at me and smiles and then slides a crayon down to me.

Mary Jane: Can I?

He then hands me a coloring page.

Miles's POV

I'm now standing on a skyscraper with Y/N as he's gonna train me to web swing.

I was so excited cause I've really been wanting to be a hero like him.

I'm currently wearing a prototype suit he made for me.

(In case you guys wanted to know what the suit looks like.)

Y/N and I look at each other.

Y/N: How do they fit?

I look down and Y/N's old web shooters that are on my wrists.

Miles: I think they're a little tight.

He puts his hand on my shoulder.

Y/N: You'll get used to it.

He and I then look forward.

I look out over the city realizing that life for me will be different from now on.

Y/N then looks at me.

Y/N: You ready bud?

Miles: Yes!

Y/N: Let's see if you can keep up.

Miles: Is that a challenge?

Y/N then dives from the skyscraper as he starts web swinging.

I take a deep breath as I let my body drop from the skyscraper.

I start falling.

Miles: Holy shit!

I then shoot out a web line and I see that I'm in the air.

Miles: I'm doing it!

I shoot out another web line and start web swinging.

Y/N's POV

As I'm web swinging, I look behind me and see Miles is web swinging behind me.

The kids a natural.

Though I do gotta say it'll be nice to have some back up out here in case things get rough.

I look out at the city, and after everything that has happened, I can't wait to see what my adventure will be. I also can't wait to see how good of a father I'll be now that I have a son.

(A/N: Well that's the end of Spider-Man: Alternate Ps4 Story. Next up is Avengers: Age Of Ultron. But now there is something I wanna ask you guys, at some point, it's undecided but I may do a version of the web warriors, and I wanna know what you guys think about me making Mary Jane Spider-girl. If you guys like this then I may do it but if you guys don't like it then don't be afraid to tell me it's a bad idea. Either way, Mary Jane isn't leaving the story. She'll still be apart of it.)
