Chapter 16: Getting The Truth

(Five Days Later)

Y/N's POV

So it's been five days since my run in with chameleon and I discovered that Wilson Fisk is the kingpin.

Over the last few days I've been looking for the black cat as I know that Kingpin obviously did something to her but I haven't been able to find her.

Anyways, I'm at MJ's house and I've just gotten out of the shower.

I've been staying at her house the last few days, I wouldn't say we're dating but we've just been having fun.

The last time we dated was when we were younger and that relationship felt rushed who I think now we're just taking slow.

After getting dressed I go out into the living room and see her watching tv.

Y/N: Hey.

Mary Jane: Hey.

I go over and sit down on the couch.

Mary Jane: How'd you sleep?

Y/N: Good. I slept good. What about you?

Mary Jane: Better than good.

I smile.

Mary Jane: Oh look at this.

She changes the channel of the tv and a news report comes on about Black Cat attacking the chameleon.

Y/N: Oh my god.

Mary Jane: The black cat is out of her mind.

Y/N: Yeah, you can say that again.

Mary Jane: I wonder whys she attacked the chameleon.

Y/N: (Whispers) So do I.

I then stand up.

Y/N: I'll call you later.

Mary Jane: Where are you going?

Y/N: Uh to get photos. Pictures for the bugle.

I give her a kiss and then walk over to the door and grab my jacket.

Y/N: I'll call you later.

Mary Jane: Oh uh okay. Bye.

I open the door and walk out and then I take my phone out and dial Coles number.

Cole: Hey man.

Y/N: Hey I found the black cat.

Cole: Yeah I saw she attacked the chameleon again. Why's the kingpin so important to her anyways?

Y/N: I'm hoping that's what I'm gonna find.

Cole: All right. Call me if you get anything and be careful man.

Y/N: I will.

Then I hang up and I find a place to change into my suit and then I head to the location where black cat attacked Chameleon.

(Ten Minutes Later)

I'm now at the building where Black Cat attacked Chameleon and when I get there I crawl along the ceiling and drop to the ground.

Y/N: Okay, Kitty, why's the kingpin so important to you?

I look around for clues but I have no luck in finding anything.

Y/N: Hmm...Come on. There's gotta be something.

Black Cat: For a Spider you don't have stealth.

I turn around and see Black Cat standing there.

Y/N: Why'd you attack Chameleon again?

Black Cat: He had something I needed.

Y/N: That's not enough. Why are you doing this?

Black Cat: Poor little spider. The truth isn't always as it seems.

Y/N: Then help me to understand. Tell me about the kingpin. Tell me about Wilson Fisk. Tell me everything.

She walks over to me and puts her hand on my mask.

Black Cat: Why's being a hero so important to you, Spider?

Y/N: Because it's the right thing to do.

She chuckles at this.

Black Cat: The world is black and white. There's no such thing as the right thing.

Y/N: That's not true. Please.

She puts her hand down and then walks past me.

Black Cat: Wilson Fisk is the son of Bill Fisk. A criminal from along time ago. He used Wilson to do his dirty but when Wilson got caught, Bill let his son take the fall. That angered Wilson and after he got out of prison, he killed his father and built his empire from the ground hiding in the shadows. He became the Kingpin.

Y/N: How do you know so much about Kingpin?

She turns around and faces me and then walks back over to me.

Black Cat: Spider, the Kingpin is someone not even you could stop.

Y/N: Then help me.

She scoffs.

Y/N: Help me stop him. You can be more than just a criminal, you can...

Before I can finish she interrupts me.

Black Cat: Be a hero? Like you?

Y/N: Yes.

Black Cat: I can't. I'm sorry.

She tries to walk past me again but I grab her arm.

Y/N: All I'm asking is for you to help me. After you help me you can leave. I won't stop you.

She sighs and then grabs my hand and she places a piece of paper on it and then she closes it.

Black Cat: Meet me at this address tomorrow.

She then starts to walk away.

Y/N: What's at the address?

She turns around.

Black Cat: Kingpin.

Then she runs down the hallway and jumps out the building.

I then head home and prepare for tomorrow.
