Chapter 87: Naruto's Heart Put To The Test
"This is a sacred place where those selected as jinchuuriki have long come to undergo a purification ceremony," Bee spoke as he, Naruto, Nia, and Yamato followed him to a structure with a stone head on it. "It's set up here so you can talk to your tailed beast in a special way inside this structure. You hear what I say?"
"Inside there?" Naruto questioned.
"Only those who have been chosen can make it to this place, put your head into this space," Bee instructed.
Everyone looked to the wide mouth stone head.
"If you're a good man, respected, no darkness in your heart detected, the door will open. You won't be rejected," Bee said.
"So... what happens if there is darkness in his heart?" Nia worriedly asked.
"If there's any darkness in his heart," Bee grimly turned to the group. "The doors will not part and the statue will bite off your head and tear you apart! Those headless statues we saw on your way here are past jinchuuriki, whose hearts weren't sincere!"
"Kya!" Nia yelped, turning to Naruto. "No! Absolutely not! You're NOT putting your head in that thing!"
"Nia's right," Yamato agreed as Naruto gulped and placed his hand on his throat. "This is too risky. Naruto, just use a shadow clone."
