Chapter 7: A Probable Pregnancy

Naruto laid beneath the stars with his arms crossed behind his head for support, looking up into the shiny sparkles in the sky with a pondered expression. His interaction with the others on the journey with him had been minimal as he couldn't swat his mind from one thing.

Sasuke... where are you? What happens now? What're you planning to do next now that you've killed Orochimaru?

Not too far from him, Kakashi and Yamato looked on as they discussed the boy's behavior throughout the day.

"He's been awfully quiet for some time now," Kakashi had his hands in his pockets, "Then again, it has been over half a year since he's had any hope of seeing Sasuke."

"I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. I'm just so used to him talking so much that it makes me a bit worried when he keeps to himself. I'm starting to think we should've brought Nia so she'd be able to loosen him up a bit?" Yamato gave his opinion.

The copycat ninja shook his head, "No; I specifically told Lady Tsunade herself that she should exclude Nia from participating in this mission."

"Hm? Why?"

"Because... it's too much of a safety risk for Naruto and even us. Those two should never go  on an extreme mission such as this. Naruto is too overly protective of Nia whether she can handle herself or not—she distracts him from making any rational decisions or attacks since he's so bent on her and not himself. Another thing is that she's too much of a trigger for him. He reacts in such a powerful way when she gets hurt. I don't even wanna imagine how many tails he'd grow if she were to either be injured severely or even killed. We'd all be in danger at that point, don't you think?"

"You're right, but you gotta remember, that symbol engraved on the back of her hand seems to have the power to keep Naruto's tailed beast in check when he's getting to grow too many tails. Somehow, it works even faster and has better results than the technique I use. His skin isn't even burned when he comes out of it and he seems even stronger. I'm telling you Kakashi, maybe we should bring Nia along just in case."

"Hmm... I've never seen it myself so I can't necessarily agree with that. However, let's turn our attention away from all that. We're on the move again in the morning. We should all get some rest now."

With a nod, Yamato agreed and went near Naruto, informing him that he should get some shut-eye as well seeing as all the young adults except for him were already asleep.

Hesitantly, he complied but stayed up for a little while longer, unable to get out the possibility of Sasuke returning to the village out of his mind.

Meanwhile, miles and miles away from him, in a completely different village, Nia was being escorted into a hospital room after have had helped a small village defend themselves from several ninja who ambushed it. At the same time, she was experiencing an upset stomach and a bit of fatigue.

"Okay, baby steps now, all right?" A medic from the small village was helping her to a bed after healing her of some of the wounds she acquired during the course of her mission, "You're very sick too, so let's try and not make this any worse for yourself. Please make yourself comfortable on this bed and describe to me how you're feeling."

Nia did as told and held onto her stomach in a fetus position, taking in deep breaths as she did so.

"I don't know, it's just... this past week or so, I just keep... throwing up and stuff. I'm always so nauseous, lightheaded, and fatigued. I may have the stomach flu or something cause this feels just like it." She then spoke.
