Chapter 32: Vanish

"All I want is for you to bring Nia over to me," Naruto pleaded. "Sasuke... don't do this to me. Just let her go."

"I already told you that I can't do that. She's hanging around me for some time."

With that, Karin had then dropped a smoke bomb. Everyone's figures disappeared and in a desperate attempt, Naruto ran forward and reached out for Nia's hand, only for her to yank away, leaving off with Sasuke and his group.

The Zetsus that were fighting everyone else disappeared as well and by the time the smoke cleared up, they were all gone.

"Kiba!" The blonde twisted his back, looking behind him. "Their scent! Follow their scent, ya know!"

"I'm trying t-to," He coughed into his elbow. "But this smoke bomb... there's too much of a weird smell that's blocking Akamaru and I from catching a whiff of any one of them."

"And we can't use our byakugan either," Neji stated, using his arm to cover his eyes. "There's something in it that's burning our eyes every time Hinata and I try to use it."

"And it's killing off my bugs too," Shino added.

"Damn!" Naruto's clones were vanishing with every passing second

"This must be some sort of gas!" Kakashi warned them and hopped away. "It's too dangerous to stick around here! We need to-"

Suddenly, Naruto ran passed him, chasing after where he felt the group had taken Nia. However, he once more found wood wrapped around himself.

"Don't even try," Yamato held him up in the air while running in a whole other direction. "This has the potential to kill us! We need to evacuate immediately!"

And so they did, albeit, with a furious Naruto within their grasp.

"ARE YOU GUYS INSANE!" He tried in vain to escape Yamato's grasp. "LET'S GO AFTER THEM, YA KNOW!"

"No, we need a strategy," Shikamaru told him, running behind him. "We rushed in there blindly and you saw what happened."

"I don't give a damn about some strategy. Let me go! I'll bring Nia back myself then! And Sasuke too!"

Eventually, the group would make it to another small village west of where they were originally. In an inn, Naruto was sat down once more, still having been restrained.

"Man, to think that it was Sasuke who abducted her," Kiba said, petting Akamaru as the dog laid down.

"Yeah, I was a bit surprised myself," Kakashi shared.

Yamato then replied, "What exactly was it that he needed her for."

"That's what I was trying to figure out before you dragged me out of there!, Captain Yamato," Naruto hissed.

Sakura lowered her eyes; she was worried for Sasuke.

Meanwhile as the group talked, Hinata was discussing something personal with her cousin.

"I see... so you're jealous of Nia," Neji crossed his arms. "Because she's managed to win Naruto over somehow."

Like Sakura, Hinata lowered her eyes and gave a weak nod.

"I just... feel terrible over the way I've been feeling since I found out that they were d-dating..."

"Lady Hinata... Naruto shouldn't be the very thing that determines your happiness. I understand you care for him, but I think it's time for you to let go of your feelings for him."

Hinata didn't like the thought of that.

"I... don't think that's possible, brother. I'm too interested in Naruto, but..."

"I just think we should make steps into helping you get over him. I know you've liked him since we were kids, but this whole thing has gotten out of hand." The male Hyuga offered his advice. "You should be focusing on improving yourself. You're supposed to be grooming yourself to become the leader of the Hyuga clan like your father is."

"I understand that."

Neji unfolded his arms.

"Lady Hinata, try not to let your jealousy over Nia prevent you from wanting to save her. Jealousy is a powerful emotion, but it's still possible to not let it consume you. You're better than that and you can make it through this whole ordeal."

"Yes, brother..."

"LET ME GO SAVE HER ALREADY!" Hollered Naruto, alarming everyone.

Sakura groaned. "Did you just not hear everyone, Naruto?! We need a plan. The Akatsuki was there and then there was the group Sasuke was with."

"I don't care!" He snapped back. "All I know is that they took Nia and that I'm not even sure if they're gonna kill her sooner rather than later."

"Don't worry so much, Naruto," Kakashi reassured him. "Pakkun was able to chase after them while the rest of us are here. He'll keep us updated on what's going on."

"That helps, but still... It's like you guys don't realize how big in trouble Nia is in! That alone is driving me crazy."

"I agree with you, Naruto," Lee shot his hand up. "Nia is in a very messy situation, however, I do agree with everyone else as well in that we need a plan."

"No, what I wanna know is why Sasuke was with the Akatsuki," Sakura's voice quivered.

This garnered everyone's attention.

"T-That's right," Naruto's voice trembled as well. "Why was Sasuke hanging around those guys?"
