Chapter 71: Confronted By The Cloud

A/N - Hey guys!!! Ugh, I know y'all must be mad! I haven't updated this story in months! For the past few months, I've just been so busy with other things to really take the time to write this story. Writing the scenes from the shows takes quite a bit of time so I've been giving you bonus chapters on my first book instead.

BIG NEWS! It looks like the NaruNia manga is COMING BACK! I recently found a good new artist about a week or two ago and he's been great to work with so far. I will be showing you guys page one in a different update and you guys will help me choose if you prefer the manga to be shaded like in manga or colored.

Chapter 71: Confronted By The Cloud

In their tent, Nia laid on her side with her head and hand on Naruto's chest as she slept soundly. Naruto, on the other hand, laid awake on his back with one arm around Nia, holding her close, and the other arm behind his head, supporting it.

He had a lot of things on his mind as he stared upward. Earlier in the day, he had to tell an older Inari and his grandfather, Tazuna, old friends from the land of waves who came to help rebuild the Leaf, that Sasuke was off doing his own thing after having an "argument" with the blond - that of which, was a huge understatement.

He sighed as his thoughts of Sasuke plagued his mind. However, this only made Nia stir at the noise. Naruto looked over at her as he watched her eyes flutter open.

"B-Baby?" She rubbed her eye and yawned. "What're you doing up? You should be asleep."

"Sorry sweetie, I didn't mean to wake you," Naruto apologized. "You were doing such a good job taking yourself to sleep at the right time. Seriously, you normally have such a bad habit of staying up all night."

"Honeybun, but now you're keeping yourself up. It's way passed midnight," Nia looked at the clock then at the genin.

Naruto kissed her forehead.

"Don't worry about me, sweetheart. I'll eventually go to bed," He told her.

"Is something the matter?"

"Nia, I said don't worry about me."

"But I am, honeybun. You've been rather quiet lately," Nia pointed out.

"Just please get back to sleep, Nia. You need to rest the babies and yourself."

"But Naruto-" The girl lifted her head slightly off his chest to look at him.

Naruto gently pressed her head back down on it.

"Go to sleep," His voice was just as gentle.

"Baby, tell me what's wrong..." Nia refused, although her eyelids were heavy.

"There's nothing to talk about."

"Baby, I know something's been bothering you. If you need someone to talk to or listen to whatever you have to say, I'll give you an ear."

"..." Naruto kept quiet.

"There's a lot that's happened lately..." Nia spoke. "I don't blame you for being stressed out because of it."

"Yeah... you're right. I'm absolutely stressed out right now," Naruto admitted.

"Oh Naruto..." Nia pouted.

"I don't know, I just can't... get my mind off Sasuke. I mean, I told a friend I hadn't seen in a few years that Sasuke and I got into a argument and that he was off doing his own thing for a little while."
