And beat some asses, she did. Halley was giving it her all in each of her fights coming out victorious in a lot of them, the teachings of both Daniel and Johnny fresh in her head and helping her to face each match the best way she could.
"Point Miyagi-Do" The announcer said as Halley walked away from the mat with a small smile on her face, her boyfriend waiting for her, his hand ready for a high-five, she conceded that to him.
"Tory Nichos with another point for Cobra Kai" Halley did her best not to huff, but with the announcement mere seconds later she failed at that task
"Point, Iron Dragons" her eyes fell on Robby once again being defeated, he had been losing pretty much everything that day
"Jesus Christ" the brunette sighed, if only one of the captains was pulling their weight Halley knew they weren't gonna get anywhere. She made eye contact with Miguel who shook his head, clearly not happy with what was happening. And their senseis were not helping anyone, Halley was just getting a head-ache listening to them try to coach Sam during the bo staff competition. Sam got defeated pretty quickly, Halley who was up next against an Iron Dragon also got distracted by both senseis, losing a point.
They kept losing and losing and losing, Halley had won a few times that day but it didn't feel like enough, and looking at the scores on the screen it definitely wasn't compared to the other dojos ahead of them, she wanted to win more, she wanted everyone in her team to win more and by the end of the sessions she walked away with a heaviness on her shoulders that hadn't been there before

"Everyone, listen up" Daniel said once they were all gathered "Alright, this morning's event was tough, but let's not get discouraged just yet. We have two more events today and the eliminations don't begin till the second one"
"Woah, woah, woah" Demetri stopped Daniel's speech "If that wasn't the elimination round, what is? Getting our heads cut off with swords?"
"We knew this wasn't gonna be easy. We're going up against the best dojos in the world, but don't forget you guys are one of them too"
"Yeah, so you better start fighting like it" entered Johnny with his tough love
"Johnny, come on, man" Daniel protested "The best thing you can do right now is just clear your minds, get some rest, you know, put this behind you. You got this, alright? I believe in you" but in their faces you could see the encouragement wasn't working, they were tired and annoyed and sore, so in that moment not even Daniel's words were really working

"Not Halley" Devon pointed at the brunette besides her
