The tournament was cancelled, it was obvious that was gonna happen. Nobody stayed in the hotel longer than they had to, but the time they did spent, there was an uneasy in the air, the Miyagi-dos were feeling it, of course they were, someone had died in front of them, someone had died and it could have been any of them instead, it was scary and it would take a bit before going back to normal. Their last night in the hotel Halley brought Eli into the room and Sam brought Miguel, no one wanted to sleep alone and the LaRusso cousin couldn't be more grateful they had someone there for them.

Their flight to the US was in the first hour the next morning but no one slept that night. Halley felt Eli awake behind her all night, he knew she wasn't asleep either but neither knew really what to say so they spent the night in silence and they both heard Sam, Miguel and Devon tussle in their own beds and by the faces of everyone the next morning they hadn't been lucky in the sleep department either.

Arriving to the US Eli and Halley went their own ways, his mother wanted do see him after the events in Barcelona and Halley's parents were also flying in later that day, probably to fuss over her for two days before having to leave again and being really honest, the last thing Halley wanted was to talk to them, she loved them but over the years she had gotten so used to dealing with things on her own and the fact that they only appeared for a couple of days when something went terribly wrong did nothing for her.

Her luggage felt heavier than she remembered it, her body felt heavy and her eyes were dropping yet when she hit her comfortable bed she still wasn't able to fall asleep and so Halley had time to think in silence and she didn't want to think about Kwon, she was avoiding that thought like the plague and her mind went very randomly to the conversation she had with Hana in the beach, a very specific part of it

"I've always lived in one place my entire life, I want to live and experience. I love my friends, family and my home but I also love to explore and now I have the opportunity to"

Halley had only ever known the Valley before Barcelona, every memory good or bad had been there, she didn't know more people than the ones that surround her there, she planned to go to Parsons because it was close to MIT and she would be close to her best friend and boyfriend, she had never thought of anything else that wasn't right by them, Parsons was all she knew and all she ever researched and so with her mind still racing she sat up and reached for her laptop. She started investigating and looked up the best fashion programs not only in the US but also in the world, Uk, France, Italy, Sweden and even Finland. She chose her top choices and making the decision in her sleep deprived mind she started filling out applications, not sending them just yet knowing she needed to read them over when fully conscious and also she wanted to make final decisions in her right mind. And after all of that she closed the laptop and as soon as her head hit the pillow she was out like a light

When Halley woke up she was feeling fresh as ever and just ready to face her parents which just as she guessed were fussing over her, her nose was pretty visibly hurt, she had a few visible bruises like in her jaw and knuckles but thankfully most of them were covered by her clothing and she had no intention of telling her parents, specially her mother, that they were there. They kept looking at her as if at any second she was gonna start bleeding out in front of their eyes, it was clear they had seen what happened in Barcelona. She got tired of the fussing quickly and so she changed the topic to one her dad would be more interested in than her health
