They were all in the lobby after getting cleaned up as the dojos that were eliminated left to go back to their home countries. Halley and Eli were sitting in one of the couches, her leaning against him. The brunette saw out of the corner of her eye Erick staring at them with an ever present smirk on his lips, she was actually getting tired of it. He was so unbelievably annoying and knowing his dojo moved to the next phase and would have to continue seeing him was the only thing dampening her mood. Eli saw him too, and she felt the boy tense from behind her and shifted in his seat. Halley learned more into him as he wrapped his arms tighter
"What the hell is his problem though?" Eli asked hasty and Halley wished she had an answer "He's obsessed at this point"
"And he manages to find me wherever I go. God, I hate his face" she hissed. Erick knew they were talking about him so he raised an eyebrow in amusement and then Halley remembered Kanna's words, in that moment they were feeding exactly into what he wanted, the attention "Let's stop looking at him, he loves knowing he's getting to us" Eli nodded as Halley decided to turn her boyfriend's, his eyes immediately dropped to his girl's effectively getting them away from Erick
"We should go on a date" He said changing the subject. Halley hummed nodding her head
"What are you thinking?"
"I have a plan" he nodded very sure of himself "It's a secret though, you'll have to trust me"
"Oh god, you better not get us lost in a country we don't even know the language from"
"What do you mean?" he leaned back in mock offense "Mi espaniol is bienisimo" Halley didn't have to know the language to know he had totally butchered the pronunciation and she also knew her boyfriend, he was smart for many things but languages was not one of them
"Shut up" she rolled her eyes playfully shaking her head
"Attention Sekai Taikai competitors" the PA system came alive and the voice of a man echoed in the big room "All dojos convene immediately in the main lobby, including those who have been eliminated" now that was weird the couple frowned and looked for their friends who looked equally as confused and upon further inspection the rest of the people around didn't seem to know what was going on either. Not even a minute later the organizers of the tournament walked in and stood in silence waiting to make sure everyone would be there. Halley and Eli went to stand with the rest of the Miyagi-Dos their senseis arriving shortly after
"My apologies for summoning you all like this. But under the circumstances, it was necessary. The Sekai Taikai has a long and honorable tradition. We fight hard, but we fight fair" The man's voice held a severity that hadn't been there before when he was introducing the dynamics of the tournament, he was very displeased about something "That's why I'm saddened to announce that one of the dojos here has tarnished that tradition by cheating" there were gasps heard and everyone started looking around as if they could decipher who it was just by sight "Sensei Ivanov" he turned to the fourth team that had made it to the last phase "Four of your students have tested positive for performance enhancing drugs" disapproval washed over everyone's faces along with their mumbles "You're herby eliminated"
