Getting ready to fly to Barcelona felt unreal, they would be flying at 5:00 pm. Halley, Sam, Eli and Daniel would be taking a cab together to the airport to meet with the others there. It to say it was a mess would have been an understatement, there were a lot of misplaced plane tickets and passports but eventually they all made it in successfully and were finding their seats, Halley was already in hers sitting very comfortably besides Sam and Devon

"You're joking" she heard Demetri's voice behind her but she didn't bother to turn to look as she was busy looking for her headphones in her bag "Pss, Halley" he called for her attention, the girl turned confused as he hadn't addressed her in a while "Can we change seats?" Halley looked sideways to where her boyfriend was sitting and rolled her eyes

"So you're talking to me now?" she raised an eyebrow and Demetri winced

"Please" he begged and she crossed her arms not budging even if the idea of sitting besides her boyfriend was very appealing to her "Sorry for being a dick, can you please change seats with me?" she sighed, having to change her aisle seat for a middle seat wasn't what she wanted but she would be besides her boyfriend and she wouldn't have to hear them bicker the whole flight

"Fine" she conceded and they switched their stuff slightly inconveniencing Miguel that was sitting there.

It was safe to say Halley enjoyed that flight a lot, yes it was a long one and almost 12 hours sitting wasn't ideal but her and Eli had spent the majority of it sleeping, her using his shoulder as her pillow and him using her head as his.

By the time they tried to get up after landing all of their legs and buts were hurting but that was quick to be forgotten when they walked out of the airport and got into the car designated for them by the tournament organization and just from their first few minutes in Barcelona were seeing the beauty of the city. They were driven directly to where the tournament would be held as the introductory ceremony would be that same day. They had changed in the bathroom of the airport into their gis and when they arrived they were faced with the other teams also competing and the adrenaline started pumping through their veins.

They all took their places one by one surrounding the main mat and not even one minute in Halley saw something that made her wonder what had she ever done wrong to deserve bad stuff, she was staring into the eyes of the one person she had no intent to ever see yet there they were

"My life is a comedy" Halley shook her head, her boyfriend besides her sent her a questioning look and Halley just signaled directly ahead of them with her head

"What the hell is he doing here?" Seeing your girlfriend's ex-boyfriend wasn't ideal as it was but in the setting they were in and with the history they had it was even worse. Erick West was back and he'd spotted them too and was smirking at them and Halley had seen that face before, it meant nothing but trouble and as the cherry on top, Cobra Kai also walked in a whole new team of people they'd never seen everyone in Miyagi-Do tensed and even more when both senseis appeared, one of them being Kreese and if that wasn't enough the last one to walk in was none other and Tory, taking the one spot left in the line up and once again she was on the other side. There was a bit of a staring contest before all of the organizers, official and important people involved in the tournament started to fill the main stage

"Welcome, competitors, senseis, sponsors and esteemed guests to Barcelona, this year's home of the world's greatest karate tournament, the Sekai Taikai" there was claps and cheers from the dojos "The Sekai Taikai boasts a rich and proud history. And if you are here It's because you embody all that the Sekai Taikai stands for. Leadership, respect, sportsmanship. Captains, step forward and tie on your headbands" Daniel smiled to Robby and Halley who stepped forward with their headbands in hand proudly tying them around their heads along with the other captains "Captains, you will have the honor and privilege to compete in our televised tournaments of champions. But that is only if your dojo does well enough in our team competitions to make it to the final four. Once the tournament is over, we will then tally all the points your dojos have earned. The dojo with the most points wins the Sekai Taikai" Halley had her attention split between Erick and Tory in front of her

"Did you know?" Halley asked

"No. I swear" he said

"Team events begin tomorrow. Each event counts and they will all be a surprise. But today is about enjoying our host city and making new friends" Halley doubted they would be making many of those "or enemies" those were more likely "We have a field trip arranged for our competitors. And for our senseis, a cocktail mixer without distinguished sponsors, some of the world's finest martial arts brands. It's a beautiful day to make a first impression. And I suggest you enjoy it, because tomorrow, your lives change forever. Good luck, and welcome to the Sekai Taikai!" they all clapped and cheered again, there was no one person in that room that was not glad to be there

The boys were fighting over rooms because Demetri and Eli didn't wanna go together, the girls had it easier as it was one shared room for the three of them, it was slightly bigger as it had one more bed and Halley was glad she was with them, Sam was a dream to be with and she'd been to Devon's house, she didn't seem like the type to throw her dirty clothes on the floor

"Thank god we aren't boys" Devon said as they heard the boys fight about farts and rhymes, Sam barely gave half a smile at the joke and Halley picked up on it

"You good?"

"How could Tory go back to Cobra Kai? I thought things had changed" she sighed

"Well, she's hurting and she said she needed to fight, Cobra Kai allowed her to" Halley shrugged as she'd been thinking about it on the drive to the hotel

"Woah" not one moment of peace with Cobra Kai around, they had just walked in and directly approached them "So you are the famous Miyagi-Do. We have heard about you but I do not know why. You do not look like much" Halley didn't want the confrontation, but apparently her boyfriend didn't think the same

"Yeah? You'll see a lot better when you step on the mat tomorrow" he stepped forward to be directly in the face of the Cobra Kai. Halley didn't want to get in a fight within the first couple hours of landing, they had the whole rest of their stay for that, so she pulled Eli back closer to them from his shirt

"Leave it alone" she shook her head at him "We have the whole tournament to face them"

"Come on, guys. It's not worth it" Robby supported the idea

"They are right. Forget about them, okay? They're just any other dojo here" they all turned their backs on the Cobra Kais and right besides them Tory passed without even looking at them, Robby immediately following her

"Tory. Hey, wait"

"That's gonna be a problem" Halley mumbled, she was calling it from that moment, Robby cared so much about Tory and he was worried, nice of him as a boyfriend, not so much as their captain if he couldn't leave his stuff out of the mat. The Cobra Kais they left behind walked in between Halley and Eli bumping their shoulders and Halley knew they were trying to intimidate but until she saw something on the mat she was just feeling annoyed
