Halley woke up the next morning almost bouncing off from her bed, the excitement of the day settling in already as she was getting ready and the whole time before they arrived where the tournament held place in her mind she was recounting all the times she had seen her opponent fight before, she was revising her movements, her style and Maria was good, she wasn't the captain for nothing but Halley was ready, she didn't feel worried, she was just feeling the anticipation of the events, she want it to get it started as soon as possible and fortunately for her, Gunther started speaking not too long after they were all reunited
"And now, the moment you've all been waiting for. The Sekai Taikai Tournament of Champions" Halley felt chills up her spine as she looked around the place surrounded by talented fighters "Welcome competitors, to the semifinal round of the Sekai Taikai. Each dojo will retain the points they have accumulated thus far. Each match will consist of three two-minute rounds with unlimited scoring and no stoppages. One point for a hit. Ten for a knockdown. And should anyone score a knockout, that's worth 20" while the man was talking the captains of the dojos were seen warming up together "So it's still anyone's tournament to win. Because at this stage of the tournament, no deficit is too large to overcome. Best of luck to you all. An may the best dojo win" they moved away out of the mat for the first fight to take place
"Ladies and gentlemen, competitors and senseis" the announcer started not wasting any time "Please welcome to the mat our first semifinalists. From Furia de Pantera, Diego Aguilar" the guy with the red and yellow colored hair stepped up "And from Cobra Kai, Kwon Jae-Sung" the boy in the black gi walked in
"Positions" the referee called them "Bow to me. Bow to each other" they complied "Fighters ready. Fight!" Halley took note of the style of the fighter in the yellow gi, it was aggressive but much bouncier than the sharp one from the Cobra Kai, she would make sure to remember that for her own fight. She stepped away from where her friends where, she was bouncing in her feet lightly making sure to stay warmed up while still watching the fight
"Nervous?" Daniel approached her from behind putting a soft hand on the girls shoulder making her stop bouncing and turn to him
"Excited" she told him with a convincing nod "I just want to go out there and do well"
"You will" he encouraged "You've been training for long, you're dedicated and work hard. You're ready Halley" the teen appreciated the words from Daniel, they weren't the closest in the world but he had always been there when her parents weren't she always knew if she needed anything he would step up "Fight fair, fight strong and focused and most importantly, these two fights you have left of this tournament fight them with purpose" Halley nodded
"I will, I came to this tournament with a promise to myself"
"Which is" he pried curiously
"It doesn't matter if I win or lose if I walk away feeling like I gave it my all "
