Both their families were waiting for them, Eli's and Halley's whole family along with Miguel's were having dinner that night to celebrate their graduation and also as a goodbye for all of them leaving for college. This time Halley had a surprise for her boyfriend, one she had been plotting with both their parents and even Demetri was in on it
"I have something for you" she said as she finished putting on her rings, all of them complimenting the one he'd just given her that she refused to take off since. Eli looked up from his phone curiously and put it down to give her all of his attention. Halley rummaged through her bedside table drawer and pulled out neatly wrapped thin package and held it in his direction "I'm leaving for London soon to try and get settled in before classes start and I know we both agree we wish we had more time together" she signaled towards the gift, prompting him to start opening it while she kept speaking "And I might need help and i thought you'd fancy the idea of another trip to europe" she finished just as he ripped the paper enough to see a ticket with destination to London with his name on it
"You did not!" His jaw dropped as he looked back and forth between the ticket and his girlfriend before he jumped off the bed barreling into the girl's open arms, they both let out giggles of excitement "You are literally the best" he squeezed her in his arms tightly, his face buried in her hair
"I try" she shrugged holding onto him just as tightly "Figured since we didn't really had a lot of time to explore Barcelona, London would do the trick just fine"
"I love you so much" he mumbled not being able to believe he managed to bag such a girl
"I love you more" she mumbled into his chest
"Impossible" he shook his head and for once she let him have it knowing they wouldn't ever be done fighting about who loved who the most

The days blurred together until finally the day she'd be leaving to London arrived and Halley still couldn't believe it, it all felt like a dream as she packed her bags and she checked 100 times if she had everything she needed and then checked another 100 times for the sake of both her mom and aunt who had been fussing over both cousins constantly. Halley and Sam had purposely picked the same day of departure so they would only have to say goodbye once and save the extra tears from both their parents. At the airport there had been a lot of crying and hugs and also extra warnings to be careful and call every day.
Sam would be the one leaving later so she joined Halley and Eli in their waiting area, she'd been jokingly complaining about the way the couple naturally sat snuggling against each other while they all spoke but Halley knew she was already thinking about Miguel but she knew better. Halley had been helping Miguel with his surprise of joining Sam to Okinawa, she'd help with flight details and had been texting the boy the whole day with updates about their whereabouts unbeknownst to her cousin. So when Halley saw Miguel appear walking towards them she was the only one out of the three that wasn't surprised, Sam rose to her feet and ran towards her boyfriend
"You knew?" Eli asked as he saw the knowing smile his girlfriend had in his face
"I helped him with flight arrangements" she confirmed "Aren't they so cute?" she sighed looking at the couple as they kissed, Halley was genuinely so happy for Sam to have someone like Miguel because they just worked
"I think we are cuter" Eli leaned his head against his shoulders. Halley sighed with a soft smile leaning her head against his
"I agree" shortly after Miguel joined them on their waiting as they bickered and also shared their plans once they made it to their destinations along with looking back on their memories from the past couple years where so many things had changed in their lives, they grew so much and discovered who they were in the process and now they were all moving into a whole other stage of their lives that they hoped would bring so many more memories that they could share to each other once they inevitably came together one more time.
Halley looked at her friends and her heart grew big because somehow she knew that even if karate had brought so much pain into her life, it had also given her the most amazing people in her life that she was sure were gonna be there forever, so much was gonna change for them but she was so okay with that knowing they were all following their dreams.
Halley LaRusso had what she thought was the perfect life just a couple years ago, and for a moment it all felt like it was falling apart, she lost friends, made enemies, lost her boyfriend and most importantly, herself but in the journey of finding all of those things again she moved towards a different life that it didn't need to be perfect to be completely her own and with the knowledge that perfection didn't have to be a rule to be happy herself she moved on onto the next chapter of her life with the people she loved the most
