How Deep is Your Love

The bright lights and flashes from the paparazzi's cameras were enough to blind her. If Y/n didn't shield her eyes with her free hand, there's no doubt that it would. Even after nearly a year of dealing with it, she still wasn't quite used to them.

People attempted to push past each other to get closer. Yes, lots of them wanted to ask her questions but it wasn't just her. If anything, most of them wanted the attention of the person she was following closely behind.

"Eddie! What happened with you and Veronica?" Someone yelled, shoving the massive camera into his face. He held his free arm up, trying to keep the paparazzi away although it wasn't really doing much. Some people just didn't know that personal space existed. "Is it true that she cheated? Or just used you for fame?"

The couple continued to ignore everyone. Their goal was to reach the car as soon as possible and as safely as possible. Who knows what paparazzi were capable of.

"Aren't you afraid Y/n's using you for fame? She was nothing before you." A man shouted over the top of other interviewers. The second Eddie heard the man, anger rushed through him. He hated when people talked about Y/n. Especially since they didn't know her like he did.

He knew that what they said wasn't true because she was nothing like other girls he had been with. When they first met, she didn't even have the faintest clue who he was. It was refreshing.

Obviously he wanted his partner to be interested in what he did, and to completely support him. But that didn't mean they had to have been a fan. Like Y/n. She wasn't a fan but that wasn't to say she didn't love his career.

It was perfect, since she had fallen for him before being exposed to all the fame, news and paparazzi. And even after she was, nothing changed about her. She was still the same Y/n he had fallen in love with nearly a year ago.

"Don't you have better things to do in your life?" Eddie spat, coming to a halt before turning around to face the man who dared to say Y/n's name.

"Eddie, it's fine, I just wanna go home." Y/n interjected, giving his hand a tight squeeze to show she was fine. The last thing she wanted was a fight, it had been a long and tiring day. Right now she wanted to spend alone time with Eddie. Without the hundreds of nosy people.

He hummed in response, giving the guy one final glare before turning back around towards the car. Ensuring his grip on Y/n's hand was firm enough, he quickly navigated through the last of the paparazzi, finally reaching their destination.

He rushed to her side, opening the door so she could get in. Then he ran back to the drivers side, closing and locking the doors before driving off. The car ride home was complete silence. Y/n knew Eddie was upset about everything they were saying, so she knew it was best to keep her mouth shut until he cooled down. Eventually they made it back to their house, all the tension being released into the air outside when Y/n opened her door.

"Uh, no." Eddie suddenly said, leaning over to her seat so he could grab ahold of the door.

"Seriously Eds, I can open my own door." She chuckled, letting him shut it.

"No, allow me sweetheart."

Unbuckling his seatbelt, he hopped out the car, heading over to her side before opening it again. She gave him a peck on the cheek as she got out, walking over to the front door afterwards. He then joined her as they entered, flicking on the hallway lights to light up the hallway.

Once Y/n dropped everything onto the table, she immediately went for the shower, needing to relax. Most of the time she could ignore the paparazzi but there were times when they would be so nasty. So that's when then the shower would come in handy, draining away all the mean things they'd say. It's how she coped. She wasn't going to let them get in the way of her and Eddie.
