Ace POV:

I took one last glance at myself in the mirror before stepping out of the closet.

She was still asleep on the bed, emitting small snores with a bit of saliva sticking to her lips. Jet lag.

It was 7 in the morning, and I needed to leave for my office.

We had returned to New York the previous evening, and she had been moody and sleepy since then.

I wished the last week in the village could have lasted longer, but alas, time waits for no one.

I took out a wipe and gently cleaned away her drooling saliva.

She stirred and let out a soft hum, her hands instinctively moving to scratch her head.

Her eyes squinted, adjusting to the brightness of the room.

"Mattina, amore mio," I murmured, leaning in to kiss her forehead.

She smiled and sat up, returning the affection with a wide smile.

"Mattina, amore mio," she mimicked, rubbing her eyes sleepily.

I took her hand and used my fingers to gently rub her eyes.

"Did you sleep well?" I asked as I lifted her up.

She wrapped her legs around me and hugged me tightly.

"I don't want to sound selfish or clingy, but is it possible for you to stay home today?" she asked, looking up at me as I set her down on the bathroom floor.

I shook my head and sighed.

As much as I wanted to spend the day snuggled up with her, it just wasn't possible.

"It's okay, come back soon," she said, enthusiastically.

"I'm sorry, Mini," I said, kissing her cheeks.

"Don't be sorry," she exclaimed, rubbing my back affectionately.

"Now, I want you to be a good man and do your work responsibly. After work, come home and enjoy the delicious foods I'll make for you," she said, planting a kiss on my temple.

"Maybe I can give you a massage," she suggested, tugging at my tie.

I bent down, chuckling. She's short.

"That sounds good," I murmured, gazing at her lips.

A soft hum escaped her lips as she leaned in, gently pressing her lips against mine.

"Take care," she whispered against my lips.

I nodded and left for the office.

"Welcome back"

I pinched the bridge of my nose, sighing inwardly.

Today is going to be an exhausting day.

"So...how was your trip?" Hudson asked, clapping his hands together eagerly.

"Perfect," I murmured, checking the tender details thoroughly.

It was 11 in the morning, and my friends had graced me with their presence. Bullshit.

"Just perfect. Nothing spicy to report," Aiden said, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.

I placed the files on the table and looked at them, emotionlessly.

Everyone was smirking smugly, except for Liam and Hudson.

They know. Told you she was a witch.

Girls never keep a secret.

"Yeah, it's true," I replied, trying to brush off their comments.
