Chapter sixty five

"Compulsion isn't so fun."

And by the next day, Carol Lockwood was dead, as everyone was sitting in the school gym for her mandatory assembly for her, Beatrix sat next to Bonnie and Elena "Carol Lockwood always said that togetherness in times of tragedy, leads to healing. That one community is stronger than a thousand of it's members." Sheriff Forbes shared, as everyone lit each other's candles "but how does a community stay strong..after losing it's leader? And Carol so much more then just a mayor. She was..an open minded friend. And a concerned mother. Taken from us too soon..by a terrible accident." Sheriff Forbes shared, as everyone watched as Tyler got up and walked off.

"Please join me in observing a minute of silence in her memory." Sheriff Forbes said, but as people bowed their heads, Beatrix looked across the way and saw Rebekah standing there, as she stood up "where are you going?" Bonnie asked her "I need a minute." Beatrix told her, getting up and walking off "I'll come with you." Elena told her, following after her, the two walked down the stairs and toward's the exit of the gym and into the hallway "you saw what I did, right?" Elena asked her "yep." Beatrix told her, as sobbing could be heard, Beatrix began walking toward's it as Elena followed her.

The two turned the corner and saw April standing there, as Beatrix chuckled "April? What..what are you doing out here?" she asked her, as she and Elena walked toward's her "nothing. I'm fine." April told them "but you're crying." Elena told her "it's just the whole mayor thing. You know, it's bringing up stuff with my dad. And I know you're no longer a witch but a vampire and I know Elena is too." April shared, as Elena furrowed her brows, Beatrix laughed "and who the hell told you that?" she asked, as she heard the sound of Elena's neck snapping behind her, Beatrix turned around watching as Elena's body dropped to the floor and seeing Rebekah standing behind her "great." Beatrix said, as Rebekah smirked "hello to you too." she told her, as Beatrix rolled her eyes.

Having been compelled, Beatrix was forced to drag Elena's body into the library and then sit at a table and not move nor speak, where she was starting to hate the fact that she was a vampire and could be compelled, as she looked to her left and saw Rebekah standing there "the assembly's over." April said "what the hell's going on?" Elena asked "the school will empty soon. How many times did you compel me? Don't, just don't lie. Rebekah says you lie." April shared "Rebekah's not who you think she is, April." Elena told her "what, she's not a thousand year old original vampire?" April asked her "listen, we can figure this out. But we have to get out of here." Elena shared, as her and April soon came into view to Rebekah and Beatrix.

"Sorry, not allowed." Rebekah told her, as she walked toward's Elena "why don't you take a seat next to Beatrix? The rest of the class will be here shortly." she shared, as Elena let go April and walked around Rebekah over to Beatrix, sitting down next to her like she was compelled to.

But soon Caroline was compelled to join them, and then not long after that did the door open again, as Rebekah walked in with Stefan "Stefan." Elena said as she stood up "did I say you could move?" Rebekah asked her, as Elena sat back down, Stefan pulled his arm out of Rebekah's grasp "class is in session. You've all been compelled. You know the rules." Rebekah shared, as Stefan sat down "answer my questions honestly. No disobedience. No one leaves. April, my sweet, take notes. This is how you get answers in this town. Let's start with a little quiz. In the year 1114, my brother learned thanks to yours truly, about a brotherhood of vampire hunters with tattoos that grew with each kill. These tattoos revealed what? Elena?" Rebekah asked her.

"A map." Elena told her, as Beatrix furrowed her brows "which led to? Caroline?" Rebekah asked her "a cure for vampirism." Caroline shared "perfect. So we're all caught up." Rebekah shared, as Beatrix slammed her hands on the table, Rebekah huffed "what?" she asked her, as Beatrix raised her brows, Rebekah laughed "oh right, I made it so you can't talk, you can speak." she told her "I'm glad you find this amusing but I have no idea what any of you are talking about." Beatrix shared, and when she did, Rebekah looked at them all "none of you told her?" she asked, smirking.
