Chapter one hundred and twenty two

"Not a natural birth."

The next morning, Stefan opened the door to Beatrix's hospital room "hey. Sorry it took me so long to get back, but Damon.." he shared, walking in, he slowed up, seeing her hair was white "Beatrix." he said, stepping toward's her "Beatrix.." he said, checking for a pulse, it was very weak "Beatrix." he said, breathing heavy.

He then compelled the doctors to take the babies out now, which was why Beatrix was now lying on a table as the doctors got out everything they needed, Stefan watched from the outside as he looked to the monitor, Beatrix's vitals kept dropping while the babies vitals were great while Beatrix's were dangerously low, he turned and swung his hand knocking over a chair, he turned around looking back in "perhaps this isn't the best time to mention they ran out of cream." Valerie told him, as she walked up with coffee.

Stefan turned to her "sorry." he told her, taking his cup and looking back in "don't be. You have every right to be upset. What did you tell them?" Valerie asked "oh, I compelled the doctors to ignore all things medicine couldn't explain." Stefan shared "good. I compelled the doctor to shut down this entire wing so it's just us. Didn't want a witch demon angel c section to draw too much attention. Has she regained consciousness?" Valerie asked "no, not yet." Stefan told her "I gave her my magic, I thought it would work." Valerie told him.

"I knew she was sick, but I left anyway. It almost killed her." Stefan shared "and what were you gonna do? Allow Damon to get his head ripped off in a bloody fight ring? She knew that your brother needed you." Valerie told him "my brother doesn't care about anyone or anything. He made that exceptionally clear time and time again to Beatrix and he made it clear to me yesterday." Stefan shared "have you talked to anyone else about what he did to Elena?" Valerie asked, as Stefan shook his head "the entire drive home, I was trying..to figure out a way to tell Beatrix. But how am I supposed to tell the girl who's life is linked to Elena that she was turned to ash?" he asked.

"Look, right now, all you need to worry about is inside that room. Beatrix is going to have the babies. Everything will be fine. And all this will be over." Valerie shared, as Stefan nodded, he then pulled his phone out and called Alaric.

"I'm on my way to the airport now. I should be there in a few hours." Alaric shared "you don't have a few hours. Beatrix is stable but the doctor needs to perform the C section now." Stefan told him "okay, yeah, I..I..I get it. Just do what you have to do. But promise me you've got the best doctors in Virginia." Alaric shared "just hurry back." Valerie told him, as Alaric hung up so did Stefan.

Beatrix's heart rate seemed to be going back up "scalpel." the doctor said "here you are doctor." the surg tech said, handing it to her, the doctor went to make the first incision but as they did, the EKG machine glowed red and began to beep rapidly as the numbers began changing at a fast rate, Stefan and Valerie furrowed their brows "what's happening?" the doctor asked, as the scalpel was shaking "doctor, are you all right?" the nurse asked, as the scalpel went flying up "what the hell was that?" Stefan asked, as all the appliances were knocked from the table, the lights in the room exploded, as Stefan and Valerie ran in there.

The doctor reached for the scalpel "no, don't touch that." Valerie said, as the EKG machine was beeping rapidly but began to slow down and soon steadied "I think the babies want to stay where they can keep feeding off Beatrix as a source of magic. I don't think they want to be born." Valerie shared, as Stefan looked from her to the EKG machine.

A while later, Beatrix was back in her room and awake as Stefan explained everything to her, Beatrix huffed "I..I should've seen this coming." she said "how would you know Beatrix?" Stefan asked her "because everything in my entire life hasn't been normal. When me and Ric would go to those classes all I could think about was how none of their birthing advice was gonna be helpful because I am supernatural and these babies are supernatural. And I knew it was gonna be different but I didn't think that it would be them not wanting to be born because they want to stay where the magic is. How am I supposed to fix that?" Beatrix asked, running her hands through her hair.
