Chapter ninety five

"We're not dead."

When the white light disappeared, the rain had stopped as Damon and Beatrix looked around them, seeing they were still in the graveyard "huh." Damon said, furrowing his brows "well we're not in hell." Athena shared, as she began walking off "where you going? Hey!" Damon called after her, as he followed her, the two were walking down the road "well, I feel a fang, so I'm still a vampire. Either, I'm a dead vampire or mystic falls is no longer magic free." Damon shared "well, seeing as the grill we blew up an hour ago is still standing I'd say no." Beatrix shared, as her and Damon furrowed their brows.

"Along with the fact that we're not seeing any other people that also means we're not still on the other side either." Beatrix informed him "then where the hell are we? And I don't mean geographically." Damon shared, as the two looked around the town square "I have no idea." Beatrix told him.

The two had been walking around town all night, to where it was now morning, as Damon was holding his leather jacket in his hand, Beatrix had taken her trench coat off and was holding it in her arms "ugh. How many more streets are we gonna wander?" Damon asked "until we get more clues to help us figure out where and possibly even when we are." Beatrix shared, looking at the cars on the street "I mean look at these cars." she pointed out "yeah, they're almost all twenty years old or more, and yet they look brand new." Damon shared, looking at the car.

Beatrix looked at the house in front of them, but more specifically the Gilbert house that was no longer standing "and so does that house." she shared, as Damon looked up at it "which is Elena's not so burnt to a crisp house." he shared "exactly." Beatrix told him, as the two walked closer to it, Damon bent down and picked up the newspaper on the lawn, opening it up, he furrowed his brows and turned to her "look." he said, holding the newspaper out and pointing at the top of the page "a rare solar eclipse to be seen across twelve states my..my grandmother mentioned something about that once." Beatrix shared, furrowing her brows.

"The date." Damon told her "may 10th..1994. Oh my god." Beatrix said, as it began to get really dark, Damon turned around and looked up, Beatrix looked up as well, seeing the solar eclipse "remember when you said try to figure out where and possibly even when we are? I'd say we go with the when." Damon shared.

Where Beatrix and Damon were then sitting on Elena's porch, swinging on the porch swing "wonder if there's any booze in this empty retroville." Damon shared "well if there's any I'd say Lockwood mansion, my house or your house or even the grocery store would be the places to check." Beatrix shared "alright, now talk me through it." Damon shared "okay, um, my grandmother and mother died. They ended up in hell. Lilith who came from hell and my coven from college all died and ended up in hell." she shared, raising her brows.

"But when I die, not only did Stefan's blood bring me back but I then died again and ended up on the other side and couldn't get out and neither could you. And seeing as there's no throne room, no fire, this clearly isn't hell. And I am one hundred percent sure I wouldn't have been allowed in heaven. So all I have to go on is that story my grandmother told me about the eclipse.." she shared "and?" Damon asked her "I don't know. It's..it's blurry. But if magic took us here, magic can get us out." Beatrix shared "yeah but from what I recall you couldn't do magic anymore something about handing it over." Damon shared.

As Beatrix huffed, staring at the candle on the porch, it didn't light up, as she stood up, waving her hand over it, she got nothing "still can't do magic." Damon shared, as Beatrix turned to him with furrowed brows "let's not forget that your the one who said looks like your stuck with me and that destiny wants you with me?" she asked, as Damon smiled at her and stood up walking toward's her "yes." he told her, putting his hands on the face, he leaned down kissing her and when he did, Beatrix kissed him back.
