Chapter one hundred and eighteen

"Beatrix, did you know."

It had been weeks since then, as Beatrix had practically now had a baby bump, she was sitting in the bar watching as Caroline and Bonnie threw the toy drive, she was there for the hot chocolate and eating Christmas cookies, as Caroline walked up to her "Stefan says hello and asks why you haven't been picking up his phone calls?" she asked "he's busy. I'm busy. Speaking of which I need to go.." Beatrix shared, lifting up the box of cookies, she found her phone, Alaric walked up to her "you ready to go this class?" he asked.

"As ready as you are." Beatrix shared standing up "ooh, I have something for you.." Caroline told them walking toward's her station, Beatrix's eyes went wide "run." she said "yep." Alaric told her, as the two quickly headed toward's the door.

Being at the birthing class, Beatrix kept feeling like people they were sitting around kept giving them weird looks, where the lady teaching had written on the board how to be a supportive partner, where the first thing was to learn as much as you can, the second thing was be present and active, the third was be patient, the fourth was take care of yourself, the fifth was ask questions, and the last was to be ready and supportive of all emotions.

"And what if no matter how much you plan your water breaks at home?" the teacher asked, and Beatrix knew her grandmother, her mother and even herself were all born at home so she wasn't exactly sure what was wrong with that, like yes in the books she read that Caroline had dumped on her told her a bunch of other things but when you were dealing with magical babies wasn't it better to have them at home, where she didn't listen to any of the responses "ok. Let's pick this back up next time." the teacher shared, as everyone began to stand up.

"Are you okay?" Alaric asked her "me? Yeah..yeah, I'm okay. Why?" Beatrix asked him "you just seem out of it." Alaric told her "well I'm just wondering how helpful this class is for us. I mean our kids aren't exactly gonna be like everyone else's. They have magic. So I was just wondering if being in a regular hospital is a good idea." Beatrix whispered "I didn't think about that." Alaric told her "isn't he a professor at Whitmore?" a women asked, as Beatrix furrowed her brows "yeah, and she's a student." a man then said.

"What? Is everything okay?" Alaric asked her "no. I may not be a vampire but I still have good hearing and the thing's people in this room are saying about us aren't exactly the nicest." Beatrix shared "what do you wanna bet she's doing really well in his class?" the women asked, as the man laughed, Beatrix closed her eyes and when she did, the lights in the room exploded, making people scream, Alaric's eyes went wide "Beatrix?" he asked her, as Beatrix took a deep breath "it's the hormones. On top of eat everything in sight. I haven't exactly been able to control my magic." she shared, turning and walking out.

Making it back to Alaric's apartment, Beatrix was sitting on the couch with her head in her hands "I'm lucky that I just broke a few lights bulbs and didn't send anyone flying across the room." she shared, as Alaric walked in with chocolate chip pancakes with whip cream on them and a beer "they were jerks. They would've deserved it." he shared, holding the plate out to her, Beatrix took her hands off her face and took the plate "well that's something you don't tell the kids. They'll be incendiaing people left and right." she shared, sticking her fork in the pancakes and eating it.

Alaric drank his beer "you know you're doing a great job, right?" he asked her "really?" Beatrix asked him, raising her brows "you are. I mean, do you realize how happy you've made me? I mean, this is a miracle. You've turned my life around. And if I'm being honest I don't think I would've thought of telling them how to not using their magic." Alaric shared, as Beatrix chuckled "see when their babies they won't really know but when their toddlers teaching them get's a little more easier." she shared, furrowing her brows "and by a little I mean they learn not to set your couch on fire." she added on, as her and Alaric laughed.

That night, Beatrix's phone rang as she put her fork down from eating her Chinese food, she picked up her phone "hello?" she asked "Beatrix! Damon..Damon got stabbed by the sword and his soul is now in the phoenix stone!" Caroline voiced "whoa, what?" Beatrix asked "what's wrong?" Alaric asked her, as Beatrix looked to him "Caroline said that Damon's soul was put into the phoenix stone." she shared "what!" Alaric voiced "Caroline, me and Bonnie if we work together.." Beatrix shared, as she heard Caroline gasp on the other end "Caroline?" Beatrix asked her.

"Stefan! She..she just stabbed Stefan with the sword." Caroline shared, as Beatrix's eyes went wide "I'll come to you." she told her, hanging up the phone, she opened her contacts and called Bonnie and as she did, the phone rang and rang but then went to her voicemail "no, no, come on, Bonnie!" Beatrix voiced, calling her back, but Bonnie didn't answer, as Beatrix stood up "I have to go to her dorm. I have to check on her." she shared, as Alaric stood up, putting his hands on her shoulders "Beatrix, breathe.." he told her.

As Beatrix shook her head, her hands started shaking "they..they came for me when I lost my soul, I..I can't leave them in there. I..I have to go..I have to get them back. I can't leave them in there. I'm the only one who can get them out." she shared, crying "if..if I held onto the stone this..this would've never happened..." she shared, taking a deep breath, feeling like she couldn't breath "it's my fault..it's always my fault.." she shared, sobbing, as Alaric stepped toward's her, putting his arms around her, he pulled her close to him, as he ran his hand through her hair "it's not your fault. It's not your fault." he told her, Beatrix hugged him back.
